One thing I've sorted out for myself...I've put together a similar kit, but I use it for the bench top during building as well as the field as a Crash Kit. I just make sure to replace things as I get low. This way, I don't need two collections of materials. Saves money and time ordering all the doodads we always need. And it feels like you bring your workbench out with you. Cheers!
I use a clear plastic tiered unfolding toolbox, and it works amazing. It's one big box which sort of butterflys out into two compartment levels and a box underneath. Just perfect for having your wires, adapters and gadgets on the top, tools, glue and batteries on the second and chargers, tape and other large things on the bottom
You guys should do an episode on all the electronic parts and what they are and what they do and how they work. When I hear all there abbreviations I have no idea what they are and most importantly I have no idea what they actually do and it would be very helpful for a beginner to know. Thanks!!
Excellent video FT! In my kit, I also include bind instructions for for my transmitter and receiver (because I've had to rebind at the field a couple times), extra AA batteries for my transmitter, battery charger, and a copy of your AMA card if you have one.
Hey J and J I also like to take carbon rods and bamboo skewers for wing repair and of course a razor knife to cut them with. I don't have as many batteries as you so I'll also take my charger. It gives me time to talk to the veterans and get more tips.
@SmallsizeRCPilot Radioshack has a butane one that I like much better, as I have both. It also doubles as a torch and a heat gun. Home Depot also has one in the tool dept.
Which of those tools will help you get your plane down from a tree or bush ? I take a stick with string wrapped around it and a weight tied on the end. Had to use it in the backyard yesterday.
Tuct tape is a must have as well. Keep a razor blade at the end of it to cut it and to always be able to find the end of the tape. If you don't know what this stuff is, you'll find it at the hardware store in the flooring section.
Got the same 2 boxes, one for my boats and one for my cars. pretty handy with the yellow removable seperators. i only cut the parts that keeps the top opened straigt up, mine now fold open completely. Got mine for about 10$ a piece, so good price too.
There has been quite a few times where I have forgotten something down at the field... there is one person in particular that always has what I need... He is my hero. :p I really would like some organisation like this... just need to get off my ass. :D
eh, it's ok, just use fairly thin solder and only use it for light-duty stuff (doesn't get all that hot) but it's a good one to keep in the field box for emergencies.
@flitetest Yes, I came across that particular case @ another retailer, but it's not the same ... the shown in the video features latches on the sides that allow you to interlock stacked organizers. The one at Menards locks down the lid so items not spill across compartments. But we were able to find the right one at Lowe's, the organizer junior.
I thought hanger rash was when your walking and you catch your lip ring on a coat hanger and then get a rash after . heheheheh Great stuff dude. Thanks for the info.
Just thought I'd let you know, even though this is a real old video, The Power analyzer HK 101 you have listed up there is a typo, it's actually and HK010, not HK101. I just went to order one and it didn't show up, so I came back and watched again, and sure enough it was transcribed incorrectly. Hey, do I win a prize, lol. Just Kidding. Peace to you Flite Test
I know you have glue already, but i full love having a hot glue gun, just buy an adaptor for a ligher socket in your car and your back flying in 10 mins, also hot glue is pretty good for fast hinge repairs.
Josh Joab they are both cool, I want to know why you don't sell stickers!?!?! I can represent for you here in the EU, also would like the zip up jumper and cool mechanic shirts from the other episodes...minimal stuff on the flitetest site for sale.....I'd buy a few items.
Warmonkey1220 might need to put the big rotor blades in a bigger case. The other items, yes ofcourse! Just bring the parts that likely will crash. posibbly landing gears, tail-props, velcro, CA glue etc.
hobby king have a bad rep for say u buy a rtf plane usually there is something wrong with it and usually buy 3 items onlly 1 item works out of the 3 bought or fails very quickly if the do work i think u guys are cool but they let people down im goung by stats and buyer reviews thats why i dnt buy frm them only one item i will buy is because i know i can mod it up with my gear their carbon fiber air craft are not true and twisted for the money i would rather spend more money than get a problem and they ask me to pay for the return to their main depot then do nothing after wards no replacement no contact frm them even their fat shark fpv are fake or poorly made or not passed quality tests even though marked as tested pass no faith in them they have lost so much custom due to matters like this and if u want ur prize aircraft to catch fire in the air hobby king is the way u show making a lipo fire bunker u go hobby king u need one
Holy crap that's a mouthful. I bought an fpv kit from them and they shipped it all the way here and before it got here, it came back. I asked for a reship, but they wouldn't until their warehouse checked it in. Months later it still wasn't back. They wouldn't refund either! So I PayPal refunded it and never bought there again.
I love how supportive Josh is to all of his cohosts. The dudes just happy to get people involved.

Make the business cards into tiny gliders then drop them at airfields from the Guinea Pig.
Or drop daisy pops from a one on them

Can yall make an updated version of this video for 2019
Excellent video FT! In my kit, I also include bind instructions for for my transmitter and receiver (because I've had to rebind at the field a couple times), extra AA batteries for my transmitter, battery charger, and a copy of your AMA card if you have one.
My vote is to keep Joab..... :)
Another good video guys. Keep up the good work.
I've made my own crash kit before and BOY is it a life saver even if it's just a little thing
Hey J and J I also like to take carbon rods and bamboo skewers for wing repair and of course a razor knife to cut them with. I don't have as many batteries as you so I'll also take my charger. It gives me time to talk to the veterans and get more tips.
I still can't believe u haven't hit 500K subs...keep up the great work guys. Your videos are amazing. Something the rc hubby has been missing!

Job needs the community to submit recommendations on good plastic surgeons. Help him get that unfortunate fishing injury taken care of.
@monboy10 That's part of a promo they did. They had a camera on a plane and flew up to it. It was pretty cool.
Nice, gotta have all this stuff with you when you're at the field for the day, 'cause you never know ;-)

Do a review on plane holder/ table/ toolbox
yes i have notice it before it's awesom! i don't know why they only put it there for 0.5 sec, imagine flying fpv beside that!!!
Just thought I'd let you know, even though this is a real old video, The Power analyzer HK 101 you have listed up there is a typo, it's actually and HK010, not HK101.

Warmonkey1220 might need to put the big rotor blades in a bigger case. The other items, yes ofcourse! Just bring the parts that likely will crash. posibbly landing gears, tail-props, velcro, CA glue etc.

@monboy10 There was an entire video with nothing but that special effects clip... look back through some of the videos from the last couple of months.
6:16 huh Josh is so much better D8
the thumbnail was cropped by youtube from the last video I watched... it said 'RASH KIT' ...LOL

7 people think joab is a derp with a pierced lip.
If one of you is on vacation and you have to do a video then do it alone.
We miss Josh.

OMG LOL I thought that they were talking about REAL planes. Ohhhh.
Guys, buy decent mics. Please?
***** Davis, take bananas out of your ears, and you'll understand what I mean.
That's typical how you come to conclusions based on absolutely nothing. Typical for a moron.
Stick to flying, stay away from fishing!
you need to add a hot glue gun and glue sticks guys.
