SO, rent in vancouver has gotten crazy in the last 6 months, the average rental unit has gone up several hundred dollars, and I wanted to put my vancouver real estate knowledge to the test.
I have lots of videos related to moving to vancouver, renting in vancouver, how to move to vancouver, how to rent in vancouver, things to know before moving to vancouver, is rent in vancouver expensive and many other vancouver realted videos you can find on my channel.
I was recently inspired by a NYC creator Shan Rizwan and his Public interview series he does - / shanrizwan
All credit to him since he inspired me :)
Guessing rent in New York City is a huge topic right now, but not just there, also guessing rent in la, guessing rent in tokyo, guessing rent in london, guessing rent in toronto, guessing rent in san francisco and more are all huge, and now... we have a guessing rent in vancouver!

As a Vancouver-born and bred human, I cannot get over these numbers! I'm 40 now, but all of us in our early 20s were able to modest apartments for under $800. It's wild to hear that people (including us!) are routinely spending $2K+ on 1 bedroom apartments.

I guess one important question that you're missing out on is 'how long have you lived in that place?'
Vancouver has rent control which can be a game changer. My roommate (the primary lease holder) pays 1480$ rent for his 2 bdrm place in KITSILANO because he's had rent control for 9 years. I pay 1000$ as a subletter/roommate so he only pays 580ish with utilities.

These cars can be afforded by people who have stuck in their careers for a while and now earn $100k+ (aside from the bugatti, that's crazy money you need to have) but there are also tons of business owners here in Canada who do very well for themselves. Can we see normal Vancourites in the next interviews? Haha this is so staged. One guy is a famous Tiktoker whose content is to showcase his apartment in Downtown. Can't count that as a coincidence.

Vancouver is full of posers and fake people! Lived there 20 years. It's also a small town mentality and everyone knows each other. Its also very cliquey! Left 2 years ago. Never going back to Vancouver. Nope.

I just moved from Toronto.. i paid $2300 near entertainment district… it was 600sqft unit 5 minutes away from osgoods station… but i paid same money not in downtown its far from downtown…i think Vancouver is more more expensive than Toronto or GTA. Moving to Vancouver that was my biggest mistake. Job market is small.. the nature don’t impressed me at all. I like city not small town..
