Having grown up a teenager in the 70s, I used to watch these network movies, finding most of them top-notch entertainment, right in the comfort of home, a huge benefit over having to go to a theater and pay. This film is as good as most anything movie houses had, great story, personal drama, excellent cast, a grade A network ratings winner from the 70s. I loved it.
Thanks for the upload. This is much better than I expected. Joe Don Baker is so convincing, I believe he's channeling himself. But, I'm finding this stressful, to watch!!!
Thank you for posting this great TV movie! I watched it when it was originally aired on NBC. What made it work was great writing, two great stars (Baker and Gossett), great supporting cast (Patrick O'Neal, Alan Fudge, Christina Belford, Eddie Eagan, and Joyce Van Patten). A special tip of the hat to Nathan George whose portrayal of Charles was truly chilling. The multiple pressures on Chief Eischeid added a layer of tension and unpredictability to the plot. Chief Eischeid's theme (6:08 and throughout) was also quite catchy. To Joe Don, Christina, Desi, and all of those still with us, well done!
Love the hard workj!. It's one of my favorites series from back in the day. Wouldn't you have "The Accused" and "Buddy System"?. Those are the only episodes missing!.
The newest ones actually have smoking warnings. Nothing like having big brother watching out for everything you see and do, whether you like it or not.

In the very beginning, I was wondering if Lois Gossett Jr was Rosie Greer until I heard the voice then I knew it was LGJR. Rip

People smoked everywhere, even in hospitals!
The newest ones actually have smoking warnings. Nothing like having big brother watching out for everything you see and do, whether you like it or not.

Minute 44: hate this hysteria. He is lucky he is not married to her.
all the predictive programming in here gives you a window in how tv messed up society...
Social Media is a million times worse.
Only if you spend all your spare time watching tv.
The liberal democrats were the ones pushing the left wing socialist changes that eventually gave us the dangerous mess we have today.
This is a bad movie.
