My back yard is a habitat for all animals. Thanks to my garden I can share with any animal that comes to my yard for a snack.
Thanks to videos like these I've changed my mind on how I feel about possums.
So you're saying like, "ALL" animals come to your back yard for a snack... so even whales and seals and sharks and like wild horses, pterodactyls, buffalo, saber-tooth cats, and even BIGFOOT... like ALL animals?

I get the occasional bear so Big Foot is more than welcomed to stop by especially if he brings Chewbacca or a chupacabra.

Our backyard has always been an Organic haven for all creatures...well it was until this horrid "Karen" moved in next door. She's currently trying to have us arrested or at least fined to death, blaming our Bird feeder for all her troubles. You may believe I'm Gaia herself. Sorry for the rant. It pleases me to find like spirited people out there & gives me hope. 💜 from Illinois!
I am glad Kairi stayed. I think we need to expand our list of adoptable pets. "The wild" has NEVER been a hospitable place, and it grows worse every day. Animals like Kairi, who have health anomolies, have little chance of survival there. Personally l think possums are adorable.
Possums are very sweet but they’re also very hard to take care of. They have a very strict diet that’s hard to get right. I adore them but sadly I don’t think these guys can become regular pets.
and if "the wild" was hospitable none of us would be here. it's a tough titty and all that, but survival of the fittest is for a reason. it's about the longevity and health of the entire species over the health of a single individual. I mean trust me I'm a softie and would rescue a hurt possum on the side of the road in a heartbeat, but saying "the wild" is an inhospitable place for "wild" animals is... well it's wild.
@@marie-zb5bh l was actually thinking of raccoons who eat everything and clean up after themselves. They can be very friendly and are very smart. Sometimes too smart for their own good. I know there are places where one can have raccoons, possums etc. as pets. I think it is very important, regardless what pet we choose, to understand their needs and be fully ready to commit to fulfilling those needs.
@@heidibee501 yes absolutely! It is our responsibility as pet owners to know exactly how to care for our babies. I didn’t know just anyone could own a possum. As long as they’re really careful and educated on them then that’s cool. I adore raccoons! They are so fricken cute and you’re right they’re extremely intelligent. Random but I’m planning to get a rat soon. Popped in my head because they’re also super smart. Its odd to me that rats aren’t a more common pet. They’re smart, clean, sweet, and adorable.

I have fed them and helped them and they are beautiful beings also I learned from them that love changes all things, I have a large bowl that I leave cat food in it at night, and almost every night I see possums, skunks and raccoons eating together from the same bowl. What a sight.

I have a big ol possum that comes to my back garden some nights and I just love him/her! Always leave water and some light snacks out for them and in return they eat a lot of the pesky June bugs.
This opossum looks like my special needs cat. He's just so adorable and you just want to love him with all your heart. I see the same love when I look at Kairi. It's a special bond. It's so heartbreaking to know they won't live long 😞

I recently had an incredibly vivid dream that I was handed a small possum (I live in Australia, so that kind of possum), as the possum came into my hands its tail curled around my index finger and the tiny possum turned onto its back. It stretched out its little limbs and I saw under its arms. I gasped when I realised that it was a tiny glider type of possum. It was then curled up in my palms, it’s prehensile tail still tightly wrapped around my finger. Amazing 🥲
Later, when I was awake, my friend mentioned that I had gasped quite loudly in my sleep.
That’s when I remembered and told her all about my amazing possum/glider dream.

I'm glad they clarified the eyeball things because I was like 'OH MY GAWD WHAT HAPPENED TO HER EYES!!'. I thought she had some sort of critically painful eye condition. But It's good that she's fine.

Have to have somewhere to live… right? I really only see it occasionally. Mostly at dusk/almost dark. It will be in my driveway scurrying to go under the shed. I did put a water source out for him/her. I don’t feed it though.

It always hurts my heart to know possums don’t have a long lifespan.
I love opossums, raccoons, foxes and all even skunks! Opossums lifespan is so short! Here in Quebec we have guinea pigs as pets but they too don’t live for long, an average 5 years of a 10 years lifespan. I was rehaber for guinea piggies with satin syndrome (no teeth, no eyes, deformities…) for years. We need people to help animals with special needs. ❤❤❤

Possums are absolutely adorable! My daughter had one that lived on the porch of an abandoned house behind my daughter’s house and we named him Bob. We would throw food and fruits and vegetables over to Bob and he was just as cute and as sweet as can be ☺️❤️

Opossums are wonderful animals! I wasn't a huge fan of them years ago - until I got educated about them (not that I know that much, but enough). So happy this Opossum ended up in the right place so she could be cared for her whole life! ❤

I Love Opossums - I feed one that lives under my neighbors trailer. He likes all sorts of things. Marshmellows and boiled eggs seem to be the fav.
