  • The start of my third season with my Yamaha AR195. Overall its a really nice boat, but Yamaha quality could be better, which is a surprise for a Yamaha. Some minor issues I can live with, but hopefully Yamaha does better with quality going forward. I will keep this one for a while!

    A tube of superglue would fix 75% of your issues. Sweet boat, got 2020 195S with only 22hrs recently and I love it!

    Hawaii Jetboat & Drone Adventures
    Aloha! Yes you can tighten cleats. I don't have any cleats that are loose but I do have 1 grab rail that is starting to wobble in the bow. The process may be "humbug" or it might be easy. It all depends on the access to the loose part. Depending on where the part is you may have disassemble portions of the boat interior to get to it and even then you might have to fashion a method of getting a socket or box end wrench to the nut. Good Luck!

    Check if you have water coming in through the cupholders in the rear. My 2019 SX195 didn't have the hoses connected to the drains in the rear. The cupholders have holes and when you stop water gets in them.

    I just acquired a 2022 sx190 a couple months ago and it’s my first boat ever. A couple things I’ve learned… don’t drive with the cover on. Why do it? The stresses from the wind on the cover are more than likely going to be worse than trailering without it on. You are already close to replacing an expensive cover and you have spots in the gel coat that are scuffing. Also, you can get some snaps and pieces of nylon webbing to create snappy straps for your cushions so they don’t blow around while driving. Yamaha actually fixed that issue with the cushion you showed and installed a strap at the factory. The other side with the hinge though still flips open so I made a strap for that.

      I have towed with my mooring cover on for the last 3 years, and no issues. It says its rated for 65 MPH, and our speed limits on some freeways are 80 MPH, which I do drive. No issues or wear that I have experienced. Without it, I would worry about the rear seat cover blowing off, or something else I forget blowing out. There are also vents on the cover that are designed to create a vacuum when you drive that pulls the cover tight while driving. But as you say, its a very expensive cover!

      I called my dealer today. They said its a 6 week wait to get in for service, but I got on the wait list. All items should be covered under warranty. My warranty is up this coming November (2021) so I will get it done just in time.

      It’s probably from passengers sitting in that area that are soaked. I have my passengers hang out on the transom for a little before getting in the boat.

      I have a 2018 AR195, water in the 2 side rear compartments including the battery area in my opinion from leakage between where the cover goes around the tower base. I wish they had made cover fit better (mine has a gap at tower cutout) or go around the tower base to run water off the hull side.

      This boat will seat 6 comfortably, but for me, its usually no more than 4. I think the other factor for me is I operate mainly in fresh water lakes, so usually pretty calm waters. I also wanted something easy to handle around tight docks, so the 195 is perfect. One engine also means easier and less costly maintenance. Having said that, I do want to get out into larger bodies of water, maybe in a couple years, so an AR210 will be considered. And I have a garage large enough to house it!

      It’s been good for my family hauling 6 adults and 2 kids. Although I would like to haul an additional 4-6 passengers every now and then. It’s sucks when everyone can’t go. I keep on telling myself I don’t need the $90k boat. I would love to own a moomba.

      We have the ‘22 sx190 and it seats 8 just fine, we’ve even had 10 with no problems-it just runs a little slower. And most of those people were kids under 16. I just wish I had the 195 with the supercharged engine for more power.

    So I took my AR195 to my dealer who I bought the boat from, which is Idaho Water Sports in Nampa Idaho. I asked them to address all the issues as I explained in this video, loose cleats, helm trim falling off, window rod falling out, etc. I asked if it was all under warranty and they said it should be. I go to pick up the boat and got a $330 bill. Nothing under warranty. I was very disappointed especially since I am suppose to have a 3 year warranty. Shouldn't Yamaha cover these things? Certainly quality issues and no fault of my own. I would be interested in what others think. I either have a horrible dealer, or Yamaha does not back their products. Anyway, not happy with this situation. I still really like the boat, but with my next one I am gonna be much more careful with the dealer checks and prep. Lesson learned!

      Yeah, and the dealer "fixed it", which I paid for because they said it was not a warranty item, and now, 12 months later, it's peeling off again. Not a good design. Does not hurt anything, but makes the boat look crappy.

    • @GOATbro_Australia
      @GOATbro_Australia  2 роки тому +1

      Light to moderate chop is no problem for an AR195. But it is only a 19ft boat, so heavy chop throws it around like you would expect from a small light boat.

    Greak walk through on the issues. I just got 195S this summer and absolutely loving it. Question is with the trailer backing pin. Could you clarify what kind of pin in-place holder you put on to hold the pin in place, because mine has nothing to secure the pin inside the inclosure and I am using the zip tie that I am moving back and forth for that purpose. I'd like to get rid of the zip tie and install some kind of pin holder like you have. Thank you!

      @@andreytsapov6616 Just another note on this. I dropped off my boat at the dealer for warranty work, and he noticed the magnet on the trailer. He said I should not need it because when you put your vehicle in reverse, the trailer is suppose to operate a solenoid that prevents the brake from coming on. My truck is putting out the reverse signal but the trailer solenoid is not apparently operating. The dealer is going to troubleshoot. Hope it works!
