The Navy Song: Onwards and Upwards (Pop Rendition)

"I thought the song would last five years.”
When the song was first penned in 1974 by Mr Melvin Huang and his two other batch boys, none of them realised just how lasting an impact they would leave with the Navy. Over the years, the Navy Song has served as a rallying call for the Navy Family. Just as how our Navy has adapted and evolved to remain relevant and ready, the song must likewise continue to reflect the Navy of today, and the future.
It was that spirit that led to a refresh of the Navy Song's lyrics, while retaining its original melody. The revised lyrics better acknowledge and recognise the contributions of our female service personnel, as well as the inclusion of the Digital and Intelligence Service as the fourth Service of the SAF.
The refreshed Navy Song was officially launched earlier this year as part of our Navy Day celebrations and we hope that it will continue to inspire the men and women of our Navy, past, present, and future.
