- On Tuesday, Johnny Depp took the stand in the defamation trial. During this segment of his testimony, Depp talked about why he is suing Heard, his childhood, relationship beginnings, and how he got into acting.
Actor Johnny Depp is suing ex-wife Amber Heard for $50 million for defamation in connection with Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed, although Heard’s article did not specifically name Depp. Amber Heard is counter-suing Depp for $100 million.

I could listen to him talk for hours. The way he expresses his thoughts is just so well put. So many people struggle to express emotion and they just fall out of him so easily and in such a gentle way. 100% hope that he gets the justice he deserves.

Let’s not forget how real, generous, and full of humility this man is. Remember few years ago when he donated $1M to a hospital in London The Great Ormond Street Hospital for treating her daughter. And it’s not just about the money he expressed his gratitude to the Hospital and the staff but his endless campaign since to support the hospital. Going to the hospital unannounced to visit the sick children in his costumes sometimes to amuse those kids. In every interview I’ve seen him, just check out one of his Graham Norton interviews, he’s always had been the gentleman, very calm, cool, collected, and never wanted to take the focus away from his fellow guests. How can you not love Johnny Depp?? Rock on Johnny!❤️

Yes and I find it relateable. There's a lot of pressure to confidently and quickly talk as if your mind is a factory that easily just pushes out the thoughts into words. Not everyone can work like that, some of us need time. So after seeing this is the way Johnny talks it's made me realise that you don't have to talk 'normal' to be successful. I've been told and felt that I need to fix the way I talk to get by in life. But thankfully it isn't the case.
He seems to think carefully about his answers some can make sure they are accurate and honest.

Him having to tell all about his life and telling all from his upbringing is excruciating for him is different to telling your kids about your upbringing and the rest is different from a crowded courtroom having to hear your friends who really know you listen to this newsreel or whatever must get to you no matter how confident he is at acting there you have someone directing you I have been on Jury duty about 5 times an courtrooms are overwhelming without having to speak and just listening yes he doesn’t know how to conduct himself in court or how to explain things as readily as talking to your friends in your home . At least he is not being cocky .I think he is an honest person he just met the wrong person well both of them sometimes the age gap works sometimes not give him a break please it takes two to tango

Those of you criticizing Johnny's testimony are so lame. He hasn't been able to tell his story this entire time. Let him answer how he needs to. If you watch ANY interview he's ever done, he's shy, awkward, sometimes goes on tangents or inserts fluff. This is a real trial, not a movie one. Trials are boring for the most part. He'll be on the stand probably the rest of the week -- buckle up.
How often does he use drugs and alcohol though? He talked for 30 minutes to avoid answering that question. It's rude to the listener to bloviate about everyone he knows in hopes we won't notice he refuses to answer the questions.
I’m not criticizing Johnny, I think he’s right to bring this lawsuit and Hope he wins.
That said, the prosecution allowed too much leeway and should stick closer to the case.

Actually AH caused all this when she didn't get the outrageous requests for divorce settlement. She wanted 3 penthouses, all accumulated expenses (totaling over $14M) paid, the car she was driving, $50M monthly plus all expenses of the penthouses. So she decided that false allegations would make him pay up. He didn't that is why they are here.
I’ve enjoyed listening to Johnny’s stories from his childhood to the present even under the difficult circumstances. He’s smart, intriguing and down to earth.

They go and put a check mark and total a score based upon things that are proven or not. they total it up and hand it to a Jury if there is one. Normally the judge recieves it.... Think of it as a paystub, so everyone knows where the money goes when it's all finished.
He was into COCAINE, though!!!!! That's a SHOCK!! I would NEVER have suspected him of going into that type of heavy, addictive drugs!!

Yes. Not all addicts are violent. My uncle is an addict and he has never been violent to anyone. He is too sanguine and taking the drugs helps him escape his own brain. It has meant a life of being arrested and charged, going to jail , being released and not lob to after, going back in again. It’s heartbreaking. He’s a talented artist and writer but the drugs have been so much a temptation that he has wasted his life being a slave to it.
I am re-watching this. Johnny is an empath. He always demonstrates his love, respect and compassion wherever he goes. I can actually "feel" his energy through the screen whenever I see him or hear him speak. We love you Johnny. Justice for Johnny!

I totally agree and feel this is why he tolerated her for so long. When an empath loves, the love embeds to their soul. He didn’t want to think about her not being taken care of because she became a part of him. I truly believe he gave her every bit of himself, and she spoiled it, then threw it away. She is an activist and I believe it was her goal to find a way to bring about that dream. She used him to accomplish it.
He’s such a gentle, kind, and generous soul. It’s hard to fake that over weeks of depositions even if he’s as amazing an actor as he is. I admire that he’s so respectful of her throughout the trial, even though it’s clear she allowed her friends and family to freeload off his kindness.
I also find it funny that those people the majority has severed ties with her. And I was listening to her former makeup artists testimony and she called Amber up one day and told her that she was no longer going to do her make-up nor continue their Friendship. And Raquel stopped being her friend, and I.O. stopped being her friend and I believe that her acting coach also stopped being her coach. All those things speak volumes!!!! To me anyway... She's toxic, and her former make-up artist said that Friendship was too consuming. She had to sever ties. For her sanity more than likely!

That's why it's so dangerous for his victim, because noone believes what the victim is telling because it happens at home and only with that one person. People forget that Johnny has had NO opportunity to tell his truth, his story, his side amongst Amber's outrageous accusations that kept piling on conveniently throughout the years as and when those accusations benefitted her! It's only natural that he is letting it all out finally!

I've always found Johnny Depp's off screen self highly intriguing. What has struck me the most is how poetic and rhythmic his speech actually is, even with the pauses, stammers, and stutters; and when listening to how he describes arts of all kinds, it makes sense.
Im finding it hard to remain impartial after watching this and hearing him speak, properly and fully; and then seeing Amber Heard's face off to the side...

ALL of his text messages for the last ten years were accidentally turned over - hers weren't. I assure you she said things just as bad or worse! Watching him apologize for those texts makes me sad - we've all done that. Can you imagine having all your texts read by all those people? OMG
I have met Johnny a few times and the way he is soft spoken on the stand is how he is in real life. He is sweet, kind, gentle and a very good person. If you did not know he was a "Star" you would never know it by meeting him. He is so down to earth, extremely funny and very sensitive. I pray this jury sees how twisted Amber is and awards justice for Johnny.

Johnny Depp honestly seems like the kind of person who makes the people around him better people just by setting a good example. I always try to be a good person, but listening to him speak inspires me to try to be an even better human. The way he loves and cares for his friends, family, and people in general touches me emotionally. I respect him as a man and I also admire his artistic personality and talent. He's deep, considerate, humble, compassionate, and very intelligent. He has a lot of impressive qualities. He doesn't seem like the type to intentionally try to hurt someone at all. Quite the opposite, he uplifts people. Johnny, we love you and support you!💙

I believe this is the first time I have heard Mr. Depp speaking as himself, not an acting role. My heart breaks for him, having to do this. I am 70 years old and lived with a verbally, emotionally, and physically abusive husband for 27 years. I usually always side with the woman in these cases. But not this time.

There was an interview he did years ago with David Letterman and they were talking about one of his movies and asking if he or his kids watch his movies? His response to David was I don't! I don't like watching Him up on the screen. He has said different times when I've heard him. That is not him on the screen! And he won't watch the movies!! He has said that A lot!!!
What I find very interesting is how Johnny, even in court and being falsely accused by this woman - still is able to speak quite favourably about her, and makes reference to the good things he reckons she has / had. In contrast, just look at her dead-pan, dark, beady emotionless eyes as he speaks. No expression even at the times that he speaks well of her attributes. She is a cold, calculating, vindictive, narcissistic witch who had set out to destroy him. Such women are psychopathic and can turn really evil and nasty if further pushed. Johnny was wise to get out of that, though he waited for 6 years. That alone shows how much of a good man he is. Bless him.

To humbly offer housing to her friends without monetary gain is proof of his kindness. Giving those in tough situations better lives shows that he gives deeper than he ever received.
She's hating every minute of Johnny getting to tell his side of of things. Watch her take notes on things that she knows are making points with the jury. She'll try to copy him just like she's copying how he's dressing. It's not going to work. He's sincere. She's not.

Amber has zero empathy while Johnny soaks up every bit. She would often say in their recorded conversations that “no one” would tell him just how rude he was. That everyone worshipped him. When I am sure the fact was, he never gave anyone a reason to tell him he was a terrible person. She could not stand the love he honestly earned. She is so stuck up and heartless.
Johnny is showing clear signs of having lived with a person with narcissistic personality disorder. People like Amber look for people with a lot of feelings and emotions, people who think deeply, are forgiving and understanding. He was basically taking them to feel normal and not sick from withdrawal. There is a difference between physical dependence and addiction. Physical dependence will happen to anyone having to take opiates for an extended period of time, but that doesn’t mean that person is an addict. Addiction is psychologically damaging, an actual obsession. A person with physical dependence will be able to taper off. A person with an addiction won’t want to taper off, but want to take more to get high. Obviously there are a lot of other factors involved with addiction, but we have to be careful not to call everyone with a physical dependency on opiates an addict.

Of course no one can officially diagnose someone who isn't their client. But, in attempting to describe his time spent with Miss Heard, Mr. Depp is providing an almost textbook description of what being partnered to someone with Borderline Personality Disorder is like. Obviously, no one but her own clinician could make that determination, with regard to her specifically. But, if anyone needed an example of what that experience could entail, this could serve that purpose; regardless of any official diagnosis.
Interesting. I see this as more calculating, more similar to NPD. (Obv same, can't make a diagnosis). I always think of BPD as much more reactive, lashing out when hurt. From what I've seen of the evidence, I don't really see examples of her being hurt or feeling like she is facing some kind of literal or figurative abandonment. I think BPD tends to be more apologetic and clingy after outbursts versus the reactions we see from her in the recordings. Very cold and textbook gaslighting. I think it's fairly clear that it's indicative of a Cluster B personality disorder and there is obv crossover there. But this reads more to me like NPD than BPD (or even possibly anti-social based on her performance in court and lack of impulse control like the present in the bed 😬)... just my opinion!

I’m just sad for him honestly, it’s so messed up and unfair that he has tell all of these intimate details of his life just to protect himself. Amber is a different kind of evil for dragging him into this. He’s an absolute legend and sweetheart, I hope this ends well for him.

Sounds liks her, her family and friends all took advantage of his generosity and good nature. Amazing that he has been in the industry so long but is still such a down to earth, kind, gentle person.
It's interesting to hear Depp as himself. He seems quite genuine and real. Even with the uncomfortable questions. Very chill. Just a shame it had to be in such a negative light🙁 I'm sure he'd rather be giving an interview to a talkshow host right now instead. Looking at Heard & hearing her, I sense almost a dramatized yet generic 2 sided act.. Maybe I'm wrong.. But when she was on the stand, I was really confused at the relevence of what she shared. Like she was reaching for each sentence to obtain whatever feeling she was trying to pull from audience, especially from Depp ..I didn't sense that from Depp. I approached this neutral. But what I have heard and seen so far, it seemed Depp was straightforward and genuine in this video. I hope one day Disney begs him to come back and he sends them a well centered and meaningful🐦
