I really appreciate that you’re more invested in giving good advice than making places look amazing. I use your videos a lot for planning and I really feel that I make informed decisions because of your content.
Awesome! Thank you guys, alot of stuff to take to mind, definitely watching your other videos about Phuket! We are from South Africa as well! Visiting Phuket at the end of March for our Honeymoon! Can’t wait!
I'm watching you in Korea. You went to Phuket. Every time I go to Phuket, good things happen and good luck come to my family. I wish good luck to Rhett and Claire, too. Have a healthy, happy, and enjoyable trip in beautiful Phuket❤❤❤❤
I like this outro actually. It puts matters into proper perspective. Phuket is still very much my looooong bucket list of places to visit, but I rather doubt I will ever get down that way.
I hung out with a Swedish guy I met up in that villa in the mountainside-it was amazing! There as an author just collecting stories and that guy had some stories.
We lived in Phuket in the old town for 6 weeks soon after lockdown and at that time there was a genuine feeling that the tourism was slowly slowly starting to head in the 'right' direction. It felt at the time that they were treating covid as a bit of a re-set and to start moving away from the dodgy-ness and negative tourism. Sad to see that doesn't seem to be the reality. We loved living there.
You mention ISP (which is located near Market Village) but show a sign for Head Start, 2 different schools.. Also, there are many elephant sanctuaries on the island and the old-style riding / bathing places are in decline.
Thanks! I think it also depends on what kind of an experience you’d like to create for your self…avoid touristic areas, meet more locals, shop cheap and at local markets instead of chains. I’m sure there’s lots more to do out of the traps! Cheers guys
my girlfriend and i are going to phuket in November. we are not going for the bars and nightlife but really for the natural beauty of phuket and the surrounding islands. e.g. day trips to Maya island, hong island, james bond island, Kah islands etc. The only thing we might do in phuket itself is a half day group tour to big Buddha, old phuket and the buddhist temples etc.
I'm so glad you mentioned that tourists really shouldn't ride those Elephants ❤ and thanks so much for this amazing video! We just came back from Hua Hin and are thinking about travelling to Phuket next.
It’s one of the world’s top tourism places since the 70s. Of course it’s gonna be busy in the high season (36m - 45m visitors a year). I just came back from a 12 day stay in Phucket and 2 days in Bangkok it was amazing beginning to end even with my injuries(my fault), sketchy bars (my fault again), and food poisoning. Nature in the day, beaches in the noon, and bars at night then massages before bed for less than $30 a night especially if you don’t drink or smoke saves you tons. Thailand isn’t cheap, it’s affordable BIG difference. I’d say Phucket is way better than Bangkok in terms of fun and things to do. Ppl from all over the world. 0 dangerous situations and safety is well maintained in every single place we went. Not a penny stolen or overcharged. Moon party sucked cause the DJ blew the speakers at 10pm… other than an amazing trip!
Recently, the number of Thai tourists has exceeded 25 million, becoming number 1 in the world. You guys haven't been to Thailand in 5-6 years, so it's no wonder you're shocked by the many changes in Thailand. And Phuket is the largest sea in Thailand. Each person will have a different experience. But most tourists like this place the most. And each beach in Thailand offers plenty of daytime and daytime activities, perhaps more than in Bali, Indonesia, where you've been, but if you're looking for absolute tranquility, Heading to northern Thailand Hope you enjoy your trip in Thailand and have fun, but in 20 years Thailand will be very different. This means that the cost of living in Thailand will increase many times. Prices of food and goods will also increase. Thailand always welcomes you 🙏
Hello, who did you fly with? Leaving out tomorrow and the flight prices seem much higher. Thai Air is who I’m looking at, but it’s around $150.00. I know it’s high season, but wanted to make sure I didn’t miss an air carrier. Lastly, how did you go about booking?
I’ve got mixed emotions about Bali to be honest it used to be my go to , but I found phucket so much better and more to do maybe it’s just me , I did go in the high season though weather really helped but the Bali people seemed much more desperate for my money which became a bit annoying you had no peace
Similan Island, Tao Island, Lipe Island, Racha Island, Phi Phi Island, Samui Island, Kood Island, Mak Island, Rok Island, Surin Island up to your lifestyle

Love the video guys, we are thinking of staying in kata February 2025, 1st time there, we are in our 60s, we are also animal lovers, so probably won't like that bit, any advice welcome guys? X
I was in Thailand 2014 i have to be honest it was a experience but too many tourists, I also didn't appreciate what was going on with the animals, I prefer the Philippines, Great video guy's thanks for sharing.
Oh no, it is normal for many people from all over the world to come to Phuket. Of course, it would be busy with a lot of tourists. Don't advising people not to come to Phuket. Of course, people should come and decide for themselves. Comparing a peaceful city with a tourist city is not very good.
Phuket is different to the whole of Thailand the people drive stupid here lots of ghost ppl if you thai you know what the rest of Thailand thinks of Phuket anyd why very little Thai travel here now. Phuket is only for making money and getting stressed easily
Dear nice couple. It’s only today that I have watch this vlog and although you have my deepest sympathy already with previous vlogs, you really have touched my heart this time as I shared with you the preference for Bali as island with lots of opportunities and last but not least consider the island of God (Bali) your home as it mine already 🙏🏽🙏🏽😂
thanks for keeping it real with us, we are heading there in a few weeks, its good to have a heads up on what it is like. We will just have to see what our experience is like... great video! :)
It was filmed in the midst of our burnout phase so yea unfortunately we needed to take some time off before getting round to it. We do try stay on top of the editing but it’s pretty hard to travel plan, travel, film plan, film, then sit down and edit. It’s like having 3 jobs 😂
@@RhettandClaire I entirely understand. I remain grateful for any of your content that you thoughtfully create and show to we all, whenever you can and care, to do so. Trust. I think you guys focused too much on the beach towns. And definitely makes a difference when the sun is shining, so best to pick the right time of year if that's what you want. There is so much to see in Phuket. The mountains, waterfalls, Big Buddha, the temples. And there are animal sanctuaries where elephants and tigers are treated well. Theme parks, Go carts, shopping centres. Beautiful resorts overlooking the islands on the East side. The bars and live music. If you want less tourists, I suggest staying north of Patong. My problem with Bali...too many Aussies. Yes, I'm Aussie. I can say that.
Thank u two soooo much for giving us the animal welfare check. I always wonder that and thank you for confirming. I would love if you gave an animal welfare grade at every location you show us!!❤ i like u two even note now!🎉
Hey Rhett and Claire, we totally agree Phuket is suffering growing pains. Harriet and I don't like to see animals being exploited. Hopefully, that will change. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful time there. We were there in March 2017 . It looks like you enjoyed yourselves there. As always. Dear friends . another well done video hitting all the right places. Well just got back 1 day ago hated it wewereinphuket to e pensive hated the weather the food we all got so sick i wouldnt go back if you payed me better p,aces go than that horrible place try fiji or bali im in hospital my son in law has been sick foe a week my daughter never been sick in her life and she traveled the world for 5 years my 2 year old grand daughter still got temerature if you go there take a ton of neuofen sudafed, mosys are real bad take reppelent and cream for when they bight you take take tablets for stomache ache and pray everyday that you dont get sick we thought we woulnt get outof there alive ,not kidding
Is Phuket worth it? Tourists should be allowed to decide for themselves. Everyone has their own preferences. There are many tourists because it is popular. But it has its own charm. Please respect our Phuket.

Korea! Amazing 🤩 We want to visit there one day 😃 Thank you so much for watching our videos and for the support ❤️❤️
The outro was so honest and real. That's why I love this channel and you guys. Best travel tips on the web 🙏
I watched all your Bali vids before spending 6 months there at the beginning of this year! Super insightful ❤
Thank you for the kind words. We’re so happy when we hear people appreciate the realness❤️
Amazing! So glad our videos on Bali helped you 😀
Hi I appreciate your honesty, I love animals they share the planet with us, we should respect that and co exist, awesome video 😊
Good video. I appreciate your comparison of Bali v Phuket and which is the more ethical choice. You've definitely convinced me. Cheers

i spent a summer there in 2007 before the circus came to town. now live on Bali and Chiang Mai. there are quite places up the coast from Phuket.
I hung out with a Swedish guy I met up in that villa in the mountainside-it was amazing! There as an author just collecting stories and that guy had some stories.
What time of the year was this. You mentioned rainy season. I’m planning to go to Thailand in May 2024.

Aahahahahahaah 6 weeks or so long !
Bali is 10 times the size of Phuket. I'm not sure if the islands are comparable.

You are wrong, no 1 most visited country is France followed by Spain then Turkiye. Thailand follows after USA, UK, and Greece.
Not no.1 guys. Bangkok is no. 1 Most Visited City but not Thailand. France is no.1
We leave for Bangkok on boxing day cannot wait 3 weeks travelling around thailand
Is it safe for tourists ? And what is the best time to visit ? I and my wife have a plant to visit Pk in this summer.
Great video guys just wanna ask how do I get the bike license
Been to Bali, and never wanted to go back again. It’s way more touristy than Phuket… and it doesn’t even have beautiful beaches..
Hey, I’m booked in for a month in the same apartment block. How was it for your guys?
Hi Rhett and Claire. Please tell me do south African three pin plugs and phone two pin plugs work in Thailand?
The two pin plugs work fine. Not the 3 pin plugs. We’ll cover this topic in our Thailand guide video coming next year 😃
Butterfly pea flowers come in purple, white, and pink. 😊

Bali has good view, Nature, Beautiful hotel and restaurant so it's worth to go guys
@realsteel2572 phuket has all these too.
When was this filmed?
One of the last shots said "shot in september"
You two are GREAT ❤ but I have to say, the traffic in Bali almost ruins it for me. ….
Beautiful . thanks for your work :D
🙏🏼
Can you explain Visa applications for us newbies please. Or at least a light over view. Thanks for all your videos, super education.

Hey guys, in which month did you visit?
It was mentioned somewhere in the video in text - they went in September 2023.

Thank you for your comment on the questionable practice regarding animals. Will forward this to the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

This should be before September, the low season with rough seas

Great video. How about the crime? Is phuket safe?
Totally..100% safe

Thank you so much. Super 👍🙏
Are you guys in thailand right now?
No we’re back home for Christmas 🎄 😃
May Allah SWT bless you and your family from Pakistan 🙂. Best regards from Pakistan 🙂.
Interesting to know how long ago this video was filmed. I always assumed that they are more recent, and / or closer to your upload dates. My bad! 😉

Did she die?
This seems to be sponsored by Bali Tourism Authority. All the complaints are way worse in Bali especially the beaches.
Goes to a Starbucks in one of the most touristy areas in Thailand and wonders why there are so many expats around. 🤦♂️
