First Melee major where Top 4 was all players that had never previously won a major since Tournament Go 6, but at that point only Ken had won a major and he failed to make Top 8. Here there was Zain, Cody, aMSa, Hungrybox, Jmook, Wizzrobe, Leffen, and Axe, 8 players that have all won a major in the past. 5 of them failed to make Top 8, all 8 of them failed to make Top 4. And this tournament crowned a new major winner (Spoilers) moky finally won his first major after that being a storyline since 2023, and it was looking shaky this year because moky's middle of the year was pretty rough, and people were even expecting Aklo to be that next one who was expected to win a major because his 2nd half of 2024 was looking amazing, especially with his performances against Zain. But moky brought it back with an amazing win to become the 21st player to win a Melee major, and the first Canadian player to win a Melee major

When moky cody and soonsay first appeared top 8 in summit 6 or 7 i believe, i always said moky would one day be one of the greatest melee players. We’re watching that happen
I only watched Ultimate top 8 live for this event as Melee was on too late for me. I come to check out Melee top 8 this morning and feel rather confused, wasn't this a Melee focused event with a bunch of top players? How can there be no Zain, Cody, Hbox, Amsa, Jmook in top 4? What happened????
Nicki and moky went on a tare and eliminated/beat zain, hbox, cody, jmook Many good players took themselves out early due to the upsets like leffen and amsa
I wonder why Aklo didn’t switch to link for this grand finals, ik he mostly uses link against Zain, but kinda curious how this set would’ve gone if he used link
@@TheBeggies95yeah but in general moky kinda falls apart against anything that isn’t a traditional top tier, he loses a lot to icies, dk, peach, even yoshi to an extent. He’s not very great into mid tiers.

Fox vs. Link is a very, very, very different MU. He probably would've gotten run over, but of course it's impossible to say for sure.
