      That is so awesome you are going to love it and even more you're going to love all the little baby chicks that pop out One big tip that I don't know if I sit in any of the videos but you definitely want to know Even after the 21 days don't be quick to throw the eggs away I would let the eggs sit an extra day or two there's always one that's a little late I felt so bad I was throwing eggs in the trash one day and I'll send her tweeting and I ran to put them all back in and shut it and keep it going the next morning another one popped out. If I didn't hear his tweets he would not have made it. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Nicole do not hesitate to stop in and leave a comment on any one of my videos if you have any questions or need any help with anything. Happy anniversary You're going to love your present and when the baby chicks start popping out it's going to be even funner. You have a great evening

      @@TsquareTalk That's great advice! I'm glad you were able to save the one. I'm actually incubating duck eggs right now. I checked a couple of days ago and 4 of the 10 are looking great! I am going to check them again today since it's been 7 days. After this round of ducks eggs is done (21 days to go) I am going to start on chick eggs. They are a little faster than duck eggs so it won't take as long. The machine works amazing and because of your video, I knew exactly what I was doing. It was almost too easy lol. Thank you again for being so detailed and taking the time to make the video. It is very much appreciated.

      Ohh you are going to love it. Especially if your home schooling kids it's gonna be such a fun project to do hopefully yours comes with a candler flashlight so you can actually watch them grow inside the eggs. If you would keep in touch and let me know how it turns out you can post a comment about your results on any video even if it's one of the newer ones because the new video comments I read more often. First let me start by apologizing and never seeing this comment It only came up now that I am using an app that goes back and finds all the comments on my 1700 videos that I have missed over the years. Better late than never.
      By this point I bet you have a really impressive flock of chickens Elaine. And judging by the timing that you probably did very well having plenty of eggs and chicken when no one else did. Personally I'm expecting to see a major issue coming down the line with more food issues as a lot of the crops in the US have been wiped out due to freak weather A lot of the grains not not planted or destroyed due to the issues overseas in the breadbasket of the world. Let me know how your chicken flock is doing I'm always cure yes. If you do reply reply in a new comment that way I will see it right off this app that I'm using only catches new comments it does not catching replies. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Elaine.

    TSquare we talked yesterday. My temp and humidity are out of whack. I called Farm Innovators and spoke to a lady she told me to do a hard reset. To do this take the lid off and did connect the temp probe and the humidity probe. Wait about 3 minutes and reconnect wires and start it up again. She said this should help. Not worry about it so much. I am going to do this while I candle the (7 day eggs)tonight. So fingers crossed I have good luck. I have Dark Brown Eggs so it harder to candle these eggs. Thanks for your help!!

      Yeah anytime you have questions I was trying to help people because I think it's really cool that people do this and create something with food prices on the rise once you get these up and running you'll actually have eggs and a good source of protein if things were ever to get extremely difficult. Definitely keep me posted on how everything comes out and if it's your first time and it don't pan out don't get discouraged. I may be breaking mine out and getting it up and running as spring is pretty much upon us.

      TSquare as I told you o would give you a updated report. 14 out of the 18 eggs incubated hatched and are thriving.. I had 1 egg not fertile . 3 eggs I had a question of alive on day 14 candling. I left them in till Day 22 and used warm water and they sank. Deposed of them. So We had a 78% hatch rate!! I am so happy!! Thank you for your video and all your help.

      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому +1

      @@PLJS2018 that is great I think you did phenomenal and I know there's so much fun I want to break mine out and start hatching them again I think because it's been a while. Now what I would do if I was you I would clean it out fill it again and restart the process. And then a couple days after the new ones hatch if you don't need them I would use them to trade with other people for barter or I would sell them off and get your money back. This is a super easy item to actually make money with in my opinion because anybody will pay you $2 per chick. If you paid $150 for your incubator you incubate out 75 chicks at $2 a piece and you essentially have no money in there. So then you didn't make no money but you didn't lose any money on the whole process. Which is a great place to be. But I know some people don't worry about it because they know just buying the baby chicks would have cost $4.50 each at tractor supply. Thank you so much for the great update. And still don't hesitate to keep in touch.

Its my first time doing this and i had a question what is the humidity level range have to be at? For best results! We just set 67 eggs total between two incubators. I have seen that my temp is off a little so I have to set it a little higher than 99.5.... I do struggle with the humidity but I'm going to use your tape technique and see if that'll resolve it! Will update

      Yes it worked for me let me know what happens. Take a quick minute and hit that subscribe button and keep in touch I try to reply back to comments within a day or two. If that don't work I would consider grabbing yourself a little spray bottle make sure it's totally clean put some water in it and just lift the incubator open a crack and put a squirt in there on mist setting. But don't do that too too often.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому +1

      I would be willing to bet you're going to have a lot of chicks. And the humidity doesn't have to be perfect anyway I have mine sometimes run low sometimes it runs high and I still get a decent turnout. I expect you would do really well too because they are starting to have a chicken shortage because of the new bird flu. Once chickens test positive they have to kill the whole flock which is why egg prices are going through the roof and soon chicken prices will go through the roof too. Definitely keep in touch and if you have any questions just let me know you can pretty much write a comment on any video and I'll see you.

    I see a lot of discussion about humidity and people struggling with it. In the past few months I've stumbled across articles and videos about a "dry incubation method" to increase hatch rates...and simplify things. (Almost sounds kinda counterintuitive but sounds like it works great.) There are a few variations of it but the general jist of it is to not use water and just go with ambient humidity (~25 -40%), depending on where you live (if you're in Arizona or Nevada or similar you might still have to use some water to get 25%). Most of the articles and videos I seen say to do this til lock down then raise the humidity to ~50% - 70% for hatching. A few have even said no water for any of it...just ambient humidity all the way... Do your own research and decide for yourself. I have not tried it yet but am very curious and eager to test it once I'm in a setting to raise chickens again.
    Another tip for improving hatch rates lately is gently rinsing your eggs in a 3%-6% hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution. Most off the shelf drugstore H202 is 3%. Have it at room temp or slightly warmer (like 80°) not cold). The theory as I understand it is the h2o2 cleanses the outside of the shell and reduces any bacteria from entering the eggs. Also possibly increase the O2 level in the egg. Again, do your own research. The process is even patented...lol...search it. I've been curious if adding h2o2 to the water in the bottom (when and if you use water would increase O2 saturation and help the embryo/chick...kinda give it a boost like hyperbaric chamber treatment...lol 🤷🏼‍♂️ Will experiment with it one of these years...

      Im in the desert and I have setup a humidifier next to the incubator because I cant even maintain the 50% required for the first days. I am concerned how im gunna get it up to 75% at day 3. Any ideas? I was going to try a mist or put a bowl of water.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому +1

      Me personally I don't think I would use the hydrogen peroxide idea only because I try to do it 100% natural. And with the other idea I've never tried that but it would be something I would be curious to try I have not been doing much with the chickens lately only because I got so big in the farming and prepping but after having a strange outbreak of something in my chicken coop where I lost a lot of my chickens I may be considering starting them up again I would be curious to try the low humidity idea.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому

      Yes I have heard this before in some areas where there is almost no humidity it can be difficult to maintain the humidity up high the only thing I could would say is to keep the trays full of water and remember that humidity is measured based off surface area which means putting a wet sponge in there or something like that could end up helping.

  • @rbljackson

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  Рік тому +1

      So they do make a quilt sized egg and I think quail eggs would be a little too small to fit in there however would that being said I'm convinced that you could jerry rig a tray to make it work. That would save you some money but it would require a little bit of thinking outside the box. But if you're anything like me I'd rather save a little money. • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  3 роки тому

      Flip no you never want to flip always keep the pointy end down otherwise you would drown the baby chicken there cuz he starts developing upright and you want to keep him developing the same way with slight movement but that's what the rotator is for. Yeah there's always going to be people out there that leave bad reviews on everything it doesn't matter what it is. But a lot of the cases is operator error. I find out a lot of stuff from just reading the comments on these type of videos.

    In the directions it says to sanitize the eggs and your hands. Is that telling me to wash them?? First time doing this. Trying out runner ducks. I always thought that you didn't wash them until your ready to eat them. That bacteria can get in after they've been washed. Sorry if it's a silly question 😅 but I have no clue what I'm doing 😬

      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому +2

      The only silly question is a question that someone don't ask. I'd never read that in their instruction manual but from my experience you never ever wash your eggs otherwise exactly what you said bacteria can get in the pores which you don't want. With that being said I would make sure you don't have any fecal matter on them from the chickens but assuming your eggs are in Hay or in wood chips they shouldn't be super dirty if you have one that's really dirty I probably would not even use that egg. I would just wash it and use it for breakfast. @TsquareTalk  4 роки тому

      Yes I'm not sure why they put the holes on the bottom I'm guessing it has something to do with airflow. I have seen someone caulk those holes up and still have good hatch. I am super happy with my hatch rates even over the years it still works great. I actually just hatched out another 20 something. I put a lot of wear and tear on mine and I still have pretty good rates. I never had any trouble with my Candler. How many chickens do you have if you don't mind me asking? Thank you for watching and commenting.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  4 роки тому +2

      You should just be able to remove the red cover caps or depending on how far along just open the whole top for about 5 seconds 10 seconds and the humidity will come out the temperature will go down also but it will raise the temperature backup really quick however the water will be let out. Do not do this if you are in the last 3 days. What is the actual humidity number showing? If you do see this comment reply back in a new comment so it will show up I don't always see continued comments. I am testing out an app right now to help me keep up with all new comments.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  Рік тому +1

      I happen to do mostly Rhode Island reds only because Rhode Island reds will lay on average one egg a day. However approximately 4 months ago something happened and all my chickens started getting sick They all passed away except for 5 of the remaining five none of them laid eggs anymore 2 months after that I got rid of them fixing to start over from scratch if I can find a good source of eggs with the right kind of chickens that I want. Hopefully you did well and you're swimming in eggs right now with these high egg prices. By now you're probably the egg mother at 6 or 7 bucks a dozen. And I believe prices are only going to get worse We might see a pull back in the short run but I don't believe inflation's over yet. Sorry I just seen this comment with 1,500 videos I don't always catch every comment. But I'm now using an app to help me find comments that I have not replied to. • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  Рік тому

      Yeah I made like 40 videos on this. Going through all the ins and the outs stuff that we learned stuff that didn't really match up with what the book said. Trial and error is the best. Little tips like we leave the egg turner in the machine We just unplug it and we had our best hatch rates when we did that. It's a little more work cleaning it but it's worth it to have more chickens at the end. As for humidity it's really hard to keep the humidity at a set number but You will be surprised how many will still hatch even if the humidity is not always what it's supposed to be at. Life is precious but it's also resilient. There's one thing I learned while hatching almost 500 chickens It's that the world's not always going to be perfect and neither will these machines but nature will run its course and most of the time you'll still do really well. It does help to have increased humidity on the last 3 days but if you practice this and using this you will find that almost no to hatch cycles will be the same. Thank you so much for watching and commenting Armando. I hope these videos are helpful to you and good luck on your hatch. Please take a quick minute and hit that subscribe button and keep in touch and let me know how yours turn out. You can comment on any video and I should see the comment if it's a new comment. how long do the eggs take to hatch?

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 роки тому +1

      21 days on average plus or minus one. They say that is based off the time they go in the incubator however I kind of believe it is semi-based off the time that it's been laid. But I'm not 100% sure on that because I have had some from the first of the month that I put aside second of the month that I put aside the third of the month that I put aside and they hatched in that order even though they all went in the incubator at the same time. I've never seen that happen ever I've never even heard of that happening however I would still if it was me run it and let it see if the chickens hatch worst case scenario you'll be out some eggs best case scenario it still works fine and you're just getting faulty readings. Some of the incubators come with a thermometer have you tried putting the thermometer in there and checking if it's really jumping because I can't understand how it could jump like that that quick unless it is just a digital reader problem. It runs about $139 but that price can vary a little bit from place to place. this incubator is a piece of shit right out of the box. both red pulgs missin, no egg candler and have had it plugged in for hours the turning just hums like a womans vibrater. awsome product...NOT!!!

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  Рік тому +2

      The red plugs are probably still in the wrapping paper in the box They do fall out if it's tipped over I will say it's easy to lose the red plugs unfortunately As for the egg candler not all models come with an egg candler. In fact most incubators you have to buy the egg candler separately but for a while they were including them for free. But I've also heard of people opening them up at the store and stealing them. As for the vibrator I mean the egg turner You're not going to notice it move Just to go from one side to the other It takes 4 hours. We're not trying to give the baby chicks whiplash we're just trying to gently turn them so the yolk don't stick on the inside of the egg. But I thank you for watching this video and I hope you enjoyed the video at least. Now what I would do I would either call the company and ask them if they can just drop two of the red plugs in an envelope and mail it to you or take even take it back to wherever you bought it from If you just bought it they should be more than willing to replace it and swap it out with a new one. Or I would load it up and let it run and see what happens in 21 days. I think you will be extremely satisfied once all them baby chicks are popping out. But not as satisfied as when they grow up and they're spitting out your eggs everyday for breakfast. Nothing beats walking out in the morning grabbing some eggs and making a four egg omelette from scratch. You make a good homemade fresh omelet for your woman she is going to forget all about that vibrator. She going to be over there every night just for breakfast in the morning. With all that being said thank you for watching and commenting please take a quick minute hit that subscribe button and keep in touch Douglas. You have a great week.
