    FWIW, I just started uploading 1080p sources in 4k because I think YT treats it differently and it looks better, even if you are watching in 1080p. No intent to mislead. Just trying to give the viewer the best experience.

    Before I watched your video I actually went for the clear blue sky background to do a screen capture and in the free Irfanview just did "edge detection" plus contrast increase, and a double column of modified pixels about 100 pixels wide, total, either side of the suspension cable is detectable.

  • @jaxrotors
    @jaxrotors 3 роки тому +4

    At about 7:19 in your video there is a frame where it appears that cable is visible in front of the left (viewer's right) rotor fairing as a bright line against the dark metal. It could be a light flare, but seems to hold the same angle as in the other shots.
    Great analysis!

  • @lt4324

    You are great at what you do!!! I can clearly see the column, and splice if that's what you call it.
    The waves are clearly not matching on that slice or column and are different to from left to right, clearly visible.
    I don't understand why someone or some company would even do this unless trying to scam the public or investors for money? Is that possible?
    To do this just for a video or views is IMO childish.
    Thanks for this evaluation as I was fooled at first, but this is the icing on the cake so to speak. Thanks for posting,

    Hello all, I did wonder if it is a ‘power cord’ suspended from a jib or such like, as I would have expected a much larger battery pack, on average you need about 3-4 hp per pound of aircraft (all in weight for a helicopter ) not sure what a drone ratio is. So 140lb man = 40 hp before pack nearly 30kw’s that a lot of batteries. Just a thought

    Brilliant analysis! I might be wrong, but the motors and the props SEEM to not be enough to lift a persons weight. Not sure though, tech may have moved on a bit since ten years ago. Look at the Mythbusters JetPack episode, and more recently, the defunct Martin JetPack which took years of development and hundreds of horsepower and which ultimately failed to reach market in the end.

      Also the lack of visible propwash is a strong evidence that the video is a scam.

    It is common for prototypes to be tethered at that stage of development. You don't want people to die. Many early prototypes, (e.g Gravity Industries) were tethered. Sure, it was bad PR move on their part to clean up the tether. But there is no magic to such a rig. It will eventually fly on it's own.

    "Tethered flight" does not mean SUSPENDED. It means the rotors were 100% lifting the person. He WAS flying. What it DOES mean is the power supply remains on the ground, and a power cord provides power. The purpose is to demonstrate the concept works; but the next step is to strenghthen the lift where it can lift man and power supply. This a little harder, because large batteries are heavy.

    • @ParallaxEffect
      @ParallaxEffect  3 роки тому

      Incorrect. Tethered flight could mean a number of things. You are giving them a great deal of credit by choosing to interpret tethered as fully supported by the rotos but simply powered by a (very carefully airbrushed out line, which also seems to be always acting like a pendulum). My interpretation, another interpretation of 'tethered' is that it's fully suspended, unless they can demonstrate / prove otherwise.
