      Adam I’d like to talk to you about what it’s like to take legal action against a childhood abuser as I’m currently doing, the benefits vs risks and what it does emotionally/ the toll it takes. You absolutely have grounds to take civil legal action and there’s possibly even criminal legal exposure but let me tell you it is a lot. It reopens old wounds and shows you just how affected you have been, more so than you even realised. But it’s also nice to feel like you’re getting some acknowledgment and justice.

    • @kmichaels7653
      @kmichaels7653 Рік тому +3

      Ps. My story staying consistent over the 17 years is why I’m able to go after my abuser civilly. Every time you say that it really resonates with me. I know you are telling the truth and I can see it’s affected you. Just know you are coping so well. Your strength and resilience is inspiring.

      Absolutely. While making and raising a human is very hard, being a mom is not unique. I'm pretty sure most people have children. I can't figure out the mental gymnastics that goes on that makes the specific "Mothers" think they're above other people.
      Also, "Boy Moms" show some extreme behavior. I have a little boy, but I'm not one of those "Boy Moms" who threaten their 2-year-old son's potential future wife. That's weird to me.

Mama McIntyre is the unwavering hero for paying such close attention to Adam’s interactions online and for fostering the kind of relationship that she could pick up on what was really going on when Colleen planned to ditch Adam and literally waited on the street to look out for him. I don't want to speculate about any legal actions you may be involved with, rightly so. As an observer, a trauma survivor, and a mother, all I keep looking for is for her to acknowledge that she and her team caused people harm. Simple. She can go on about her intentions all day long, but if I'm driving down the road, drop my coffee in my lap, and hit somebody, I'm not off the hook because I didn't mean to. Her failure to consider the humanity of the people she hurt *is* the indictment of her character.

    • @rainestar82
      @rainestar82 Рік тому +24

      this. but so many abusers either cant or wont dont that because acknowledging they messed up breaks the glass wall of delusion. Intentions dont matter at ALL the second you hurt someone this badly. The fact that her victims have had worlds more grace dealing with the harassment and coping than Colleen has had about ANYTHING...

    • @primrosett
      @primrosett Рік тому +20

      Yeah, it's disturbing to me that Colleen seems to wholeheartedly believe her intentions exonerate her fully and it just doesn't work that way. Everything isn't okay because you say "I didn't mean to". Plenty of tragedies happened by accident, it doesn't undo the harm. When that mindset is applied to parenthood? That gets dangerous and I hope she doesn't bring that sort of ideology into how she raises her kids because yikes.

    Re: the lingerie
    Adam brings up a great point that what she sent him was not “ugly,” comfy chones that she bought as a gag. I think she bought them on purpose because she liked them and possibly wanted to wear them in private with her husband. I think she forgot they were in that order. And I think her weirdo bestie shamed her on live about them, immediately calling them ugly, shading her sexual life, and *wearing them*, so she went along like this purchase was just a big joke because she and Kory are emotionally stunted, sexually repressed middle schoolers in middle-aged bodies.
    Her reaction and Kory’s as they open the packages has always struck me as off somehow, and the whole “these are so trashy that I literally paid to have them sent to my house” has never made sense to me. There’s waaaay more audacious underwear out there if she was looking for a gag. That stuff was just so vanilla, basic, and *in her size* that I don’t think they were a part of a giveaway bit until Kory woke up her shame.

      One part of grooming that people don't talk about is the method that makes everyone seem complict.
      You think everyone already knows and that it isn't a secret.
      And if everyone is already acting normal and moving on, you have no place to talk about what happened to you.
      She's hitting that button real hard. "Old news. No one complained. Wasn't a secret.'

She legit asked you personally if you wanted them, told you to take pictures wearing them, got your address and information, boxed them up and sent overseas. That wasn’t a casual joke. There was quite a bit of effort put into it. During which she never once stopped to think to herself “hey maybe this is extremely inappropriate and I shouldn’t be sending lingerie to a minor, even on the off chance that it could be misconstrued”. There was clear intent behind the entire thing. As the adult, “part of my brain was missing at the time” isn’t really a defense. How did anyone let that slide?!?!?!

While I completely understand that their children would be embarrassed if their parent stood up against this during a show, the child’s safety is more important. What is more concerning? Your kids being embarrassed, or preventing them from being sexually assaulted. This is not to say that I am putting blame on the parents, as I think this is 100% Colleen’s fault. I just don’t understand why no parent stood up against this if they saw it at the show. I think your criticism is fair.
      There’s only so much you can do around situations like this! It’s hard to say what the exact right way to react is. I remember once, I took my nephews to eat icecream, a homeless man walked up to us and pulled out a porn magazine… I didn’t know what to do! I didn’t want to make it a big scene, but I also didn’t want to draw attention to the magazine. I just ignored the homeless guy and told my nephews to eat their ice cream, I asked them if they liked their icecream…. People around us started looking around and getting concerned… the homeless guys eventually walked away. I don’t know if I did the right thing, but at the time, I just didn’t know what to do. I’m hoping they have no recollection of it, I think, it was the right call… but won’t be sure until I ask my nephews when they’re much older…. That’s like a decade from now.
      Idk, if I had a daughter, I wouldn’t of let her go on stage. I would’ve cursed out Colleen, or stopped her. Done anything to prevent the humiliation.

The « lessons » they are learning at that house, by even just watching her videos, are absolutely horrifying. I’m scared in the future be will see them start to sexualizing themselves to get attention, not understand consent, not understand apologizing and taking accountability, and horrifying normalization of sexual undertones, even flat out sexual abuse, with family members. The fact her brother (and imo Colleen as well but it’s not as obvious) has, with receipts, been shown to be grooming children with the expectation of future sexual contact. There’s so many worrying lessons « passed as jokes » children who watch her videos learn, the possibility her children are learning similar, and potentially « worse », lessons not under the guise of « humor » but as reality is quite high.

She has literally conditioned kids to dress “slutty” to get her attention on stage, and think degrading them is okay and funny. There are PLENTY of people who abuse children that have not experienced any sort of trauma in their childhoods similar to what they perpetrate, and also vice versa, people like myself who suffered abuse well into adulthood and do everything in their power to end the cycle.
      As someone who has suffered literally every single kind of abuse possible, I find the concept of attributing harm in childhood to later committing more egregious harm to be an extremely dangerous stereotype that further perpetuates fear and disbelief in s* abuse survivors. I am not saying this to demonize you or tell you that you are a bad person for saying this or thinking that to be true, I just want to express how deeply hurtful it is as someone who has survived similar experiences to constantly see people attempting to relate abuse to something rational. Abuse is often not rational, it is often not based in anything other than ego and rage and the desire for power over others.

    I’ve never, in my life, have been sensitive to watching things// I don’t really need a trigger warning for anything. The “bae” bit makes me so uncomfortable, I have to fast forward. Even with the kids faces covered. I can’t stand the act or the response from the audience. ITS SCARY!

    Oh Love. I’m a mother of a teen boy, and I view your old videos with that eye. You were just perfect. Sincerely. A beautiful person telling their truth. 😘
