I SOOOO can't wait for the video on antidepressants. I've given up trying to explain to literally almost everyone that they don't work for everyone in all situations. One, an SNRI, caused lasting damage because the prescriber wasn't the kind of person to keep up with the research and prescribed and monitored it incorrectly, and I can't get anyone to believe that this is a thing. I'd love to find one that works, but ugh, I'm tired of being a walking experiment year after year.
Been checking every few minutes for you to upload! ❤️ I don’t know what it is about you and your voice but it soothes me so much and makes me feel calm and safe ❤️ thank you for being here Kati!

i was SO excited for this episode!!! edit after watching: incredible, incredible episode. definitely learned a lot! thank you so much, kati and dr. ben
This was perfect timing for me too as I just had a strong dissociative episode a few days ago. This helps me understand what was happening, as well as being good info for the other person who witnessed it. Thank you both! I cannot wait until mushrooms are available for psychiatric use. I’ve been taking ketamine therapy since September and it’s been life-changing. Literally NOTHING else has helped my clinical depression and MAD. There’s hope!
Hello people how are you doing tonight or this morning depending on where you are from the the world I'm late getting my notification just glad I still can watch and listen to Kati s podcast been a long and boring week for me and my mental state has been bad I look forward to hearing people s question s and Kati s answer s in deep details every Thursday and always nice to see a guest on the podcast
I wish crisis services like homeless shelters, etc, would understand that we can't consent and sign forms and often over-disclose due to being dissociated from recent trauma while trying to get help in the immediate aftermath. I wish they provided a quiet calm down room or a counselor before intake at these places.
Perfect timing on this episode. My niece has anorexia and bad OCD. She's been experiencing a lot of dissociation. My daughter's boyfriend has been too and it appears to be dpdr disorder but he doesn't have dx . He is also ASD, as is my daughter, and dissociation is something we've noticed in this population. Trying to learn & understand what it is like and what can help. Do you have any other resources, books etc for further learning you'd recommend? Thank you for all you do
As an electronics technician who has spent a lot of time troubleshooting complex systems before, I can absolutely attest to the fact that just because you measure a weird signal in one area, doesn't mean the real issue is anywhere near there in the system 😅😰😭 This is fascinating research though, and I'd be really interested in seeing it progress!!!
I’ve had permanent depersonalization / derealization disorder which has never lifted for almost 21 years. It started after a summer of extreme stress and a lot of weed smoking made it permanent. When I’d get tired it used to click on and after I’d sleep it would go away. Then boom. One day I woke up and it was permanent. That was 18 years old and I’m now in late 30s. Nothing has ever fixed it.
I just watched a video (The Sense of Agency | Patrick Haggard (2016)) regarding Agency. The brain does not register or sense Agency. It only registers Non-Agency. I am interested in Agency to help understand my Clutter Habit. Would the part of the brain that was stimulated in the epilepsy example be this Non-Agency registration?
I get aura before migraine where I can tell something's off. Mild dissociation. Then I can't read and my limbs don't belong to me. Then I start losing vision or get additions like zigzags in my vision. Numb spots and nausea follow, then pain and vomiting as the aura fades. Not fun.

I just found our that yes indeed any abuse or even any trauma atleast big T trauma can cause hypersexuality and even bdsm I kind of already knew that but I just wanted someone to confirm it so not just sexual abuse can cause hypersexuality or odd strange or atleast what some consider to be odd even taboo fantasies it doesn't matter if the trauma was something sexual or rather if it was something like physical abuse emotional abuse neglect bullying abandonment it can cause fantasies do it inorder to cope and or to take back that power.

Loved the sand and marble analogy, including the bumper bowl part… Going to use it in my sessions today
I’m curious what happens in the brain during tics and premonitory urges. But this is such a cool episode!
Hello Kati and guest Ben Rein

Taoist principle is to treat your body, mind and spirit (and your life) like a Kingdom.
around 33:20: i wonder if it would also increase the neuroplasticity of someone that's 85+ if they take psychedelics. incredibly interesting!
That's a great idea… But I'm laughing out loud picturing a group session taking place in a nursing home. If we could only get Medicare to cover it…
@@freeluigi4444 lmaoooo thank you for giving me this mental image
It would possibly not be considered ethical to take people with DID and induce dissociation or even switches using triggers
I looked into Stella, its private because the FDA only approved it for pain relief >_
you should collab with Mayim Bialik!
Yessss
Hi Kati, I'm curious why u say to fix sleep but no melatonin?

I get zigzags in my vision. It looks like a neon light tube like a gas station or bar would hang in the window. Then head pain follows.
Hi kati! You skipped a week of questions. Are you still going to make those into a video? I love you videos thanks for all that you do!
This was from a month ago. So maybe she’ll answer it soon.
