I miss these flights I used to stay at the Embassy Suites hotel in the final approach path and hear them all night long sometimes.
They are a majestic beast of an aircraft. No less deadly today, than they were 50 years ago.Great takeoff vid. 👍

With upgrades they're far more lethal today. We're blessed to have them in the inventory & with some amazing pilots flying them.

WTF was that? A Boeing 737 takes off with more authority than that!!!! Probably powered by two Puff and Wheeze engines
This is a noise-abatement take off. This is PDX, a civil airport, not a military base. I live a few miles from here, trust me, they don't always take off like this.

I have a monopod but I was still getting used to using

If it can’t slingshot off a carrier and come back and land it’s too big and fat. But I still love this plane.
It's lighter than a super hornet, a lot lighter than an F-4, and about half as much as an F-14... but ok.

They often fly over our house when returning after training flights. We look at each other and say, "Your tax dollars at work."
