At Aerotak, we have developed a CFD model for determining the total free flow area of a NSHEV system. Where NSHEV stands for Natural Smoke and Heat Exhaust Ventilation. The CFD model has been validated against the experimental results specified in EN 12101-2. It can be used to determine the discharge coefficient and total free flow area of a NSHEV system according to “Danish Building Regulations - Chapter 5: Fire Safety”.
