Fire and Smoke Simulation (AOV) | CFD Animation
We have developed a numerical model to perform fire safety analyses. The CFD model was used to evaluate if an Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) system fulfilled the requirements stated in “Danish Building Regulations - Chapter 5: Fire safety”, and the model has been validated against experimental data. Simulation showed that the smoke curtains were insufficient as smoke travelled from one smoke zone to another, which is not permitted. Aerotak helped the client redesign the smoke curtains to meet the acceptance criteria, and results were delivered to the customers within days.
