You nailed it, Harrison. The Jets can’t afford to alienate talented youth. Dump Pionk and give Perfetti his $6 million.

Kyle Connor is absolutely the most offensively gifted player on the Jets. Of course he should be on the first line with the most skilled centre on the team.
Obviously you can't introduce youth if you keep all your veterans. The Jets had to choose players like Heinola and Lambert or veteran players. I am not sure if its a great move considering how good the team defense was last season. Rookies tend to make a lot of mistakes.

I don’t get it ,Cole is so worth the Pinto deal.

The price of icing a contender, is not throwing away money on a player who hasn't shown much. I think a bridge deal around 3.5M would be okay.

Not sure I'd suggest he hasn't shown much. Cole had 38 points in something like 13.5 minutes a night last year. That scoring rate is in the top ranks of the team, especially at 5v5. He's going to be very expensive at the end of his bridge, most likely.

@LockedOnJetsNHL Perfetti is a margin second line player. In fact the Jets felt they needed an upgrade from him at the trade deadline, which is why he sat in the pressbox. Will he develop into a better player? Maybe, but 38 point RFA is worth 3M x 2yrs.
