Hose bib leak repair

Easy fix for a leaking hose bib. A leak at the handle of your faucet or hose bib can be fixed by using a little bit of packing string or cord.

Good job with the repair! I’d also recommend checking on the condition of the valve seat / washer and probably replace it while you have the thing disassembled, esp if the valve is several years old and frequently used. Keep up the good work!

Seems like the washer you fixed was the one that controls on/off flow. When you showed the leak at the handle when water was turned on, that should have been caused by the other washer near the handle. Am I missing something?

The washer for on off is way inside the house. This is the type of hose bib that doesn't require a separate winter shut off.
Any time it's leaking around the handle this repair will usually fix it.
