Maybe they are in specific areas of Yucatan! The first time I heard them was here in Hocaba and it's on the way to Valladolid! I'd never heard them in any other place I've lived or visited in Mexico. I haven't been to Valladolid yet- other than stopping to buy food at the rest stop/shopping area on the way to Cancun. I hear good things about it. The Oriente bus passes in the center of my village too. I think one of them goes to Cancun. I should just jump on it and go to Valladolid!

I just watch ...I'm retiring in March after 42 yr working for a major utility in Ohio ..I'm going to slow travel for 6 to 8 months and return to the US for 6 to 4 months but I hope to meet you one day ... Wow! All those fresh fruit and veggies for $1! That’s amazing! I was hoping you’d show your dinner. I was curious as to what they’d have, and if you like it. Those birds sounded like Grackles. They get pretty loud when it starts to get dark. It sounds like that around our house too. How are the kids doing in school? Have they adjusted to all Spanish?

I wanted or was thinking about moving abroad and joining you guys. And explore also. You guys keep on living and learning. Don't let life pass you bye. I could relate to your noisy birds comment. When I first moved to south TX, I was shocked at birds out at 9:00 and 10:00pm. These are the same bird. They are Grackles-annoying. Thanks for the ride along!
We have the same sound here in Hocaba too! First time I heard it was in the evening and I passed this one house and it sounded like a thousand birds in one tree and you could see a lot of birds flying back and forth! I find it interesting. 😊 I'm a big animal person! 🤣 I hear some- particularly in the mornings and in one tree- at my place. Now that I think of it, I wonder if they are attracted to specific trees.
“Riding with Cartess” my 2nd favorite show on You Tube. Those might have been the happiest birds I’ve ever heard in my life. They were whistling LOUD!! 😆😆
I made a bunch of recordings that day not realizing the mic was jacked up... I got a few more videos to upload with that bad mic, but the ones after that have been corrected... I was pissed and thought about not posting it but figured I would anyway. Poor quality sound makes me mad, lol...
