  • Santiago de Calatrava is a municipality located in the province of Jaén, Spain. It is 44 km west of the provincial capital, bordering the province of Cordoba. Its inhabitants are called Santiagueños.
It is a mainly agricultural municipality whose economy is based on the olive tree.
Santiago de Calatrava is an attractive little town surrounded by olive groves to the west of the province. With less than 1,000 inhabitants, except in the summer months when many return to the family house to escape the heat of summer in the larger towns and cities. With very few hills the town is ideal for those with reduced mobility.
The patron saint festivities are celebrated on July 25, in honor of its saint San Sebastián, and the pilgrimage of San Isidro has been held on May 15, although in the last decade it has been chosen to celebrate this pilgrimage on the second Saturday of the same month, in the natural place "el caño". It is worth mentioning its Holy Week, especially the celebration of Easter Sunday.

It looks so much like Santa Barbara, California in the US. Beautiful
