    I just had my UFE surgery it’s the gas and bloating is extremely painful. I was admitted in the hospital for 4 days. Finally got out today my blood pressure was sky high because the pain was so bad. They gave me motrin, colace, nausea medicine and Percocet. Let me tell you it has been hard for me to urinate and release gas it hurts so bad. I suggest you get up walk as much as possible try to drink apple juice it helps relieve gas. This surgery isn’t major but afterwards you feel like you dying! You have to be prepared for this procedure because it sounds simple but it isn’t. I repeat do not try to eat after it’s going to make you sick drink broth. Good luck to all the ladies getting UFE it’s better than having your uterus taken that’s first thing they recommend I fought to keep mine. Now my next step after this is conceiving a baby hopefully God bless me 🙏🏽

    I am doing my research on fibroid. My OBGYN told me it is best for me to have a hysterectomy because I am getting old (45) and I am not having any more kids. This witch must be crazy..I am looking into other options. These doctors want to experiment on women instead of giving us other alternatives. Please ladies do your research. I had this procedure this past Wednesday. Didn't know I had to be awake, awake during the procedure. The cramping was awful the first 3 days. Now I'm on day 5. Thought I'd be able to go back to work because the cramps are gone for the most part. I thought wrong. Now I have the UFE flu. I swear I'm gonna eat one day. But it's nowhere near as bad as my 2 myomectomies I had. I decided to do this partially after watching your videos. Thank you so much for informing everyone!

    Thanks for sharing. I stayed overnight when I had my procedure and it took me about 2 weeks to completely recover. Everybody is different. It is so true that you seek a second opinion if your primary physician is not hearing you. My primary would complain about my weight and I told her about what was going on with me but she didn't really listen. I found a gynecologist that did and she gave me the options and made sure I was informed about the UFE procedure. I was given a pamphlet and video to watch and I was able to meet with my surgeon before hand and discuss what would take place before, during and after my procedure. Ladies please take care of your body and be attentive to what is normal that way when something out of the ordinary happens you will know. Thanks Sonya for sharing!

    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING! I was diagnosed with fibroids in Oct. I was having all of the typical symptoms but had no idea what the issue was. Once I was diagnosed I feel like I have been through an accelerated crash course at "Fibroid University" The amount of information out there is mind numbing. That compounded with full pelvic exams, biopsy, CAT Scan, MRI, and Ultra sounds. Not too mention all the opinions from the "Peanut Galley!" " Just get them out" "I had a hysterectomy and I'm fine" "When is your doctor going to do something." Ugh!!! THANK YOU for giving this real time account of your procedure. I decided last weekend that I was going to schedule the UFE procedure, but I was still feeling uncertain. I was not feeling very confident that "shrinkage" would occur. I know that everyone is different, but UFE is my final answer. (I am a vegetarian... a natural... I use to work out, until I was just too tired and stopped. So in my opinion I have already lived the natural route to treatment. Now I am ready for relief and to get my life back! And YES.. losing some of this weight is a wonderful bonus). No, it's about patient care but some are better than others They don't get paid based on procedures. They're all on salary and make the same money no matter what treatments they recommend. The push you got is the old thinking that you aren't using your uterus anyhow, so get rid of it. I thought we'd moved past that. My doctors are nothing like that. I guess some of the terrible old ideas are still out there.

    I'm in my thirties, never been pregnant and not interested in having children. I have terrible periods. I have been wanting a hysterectomy since I first new of them but do to my age etc no one would perform it. Now I have fibroid, being a one time cancer survivor I'm afraid of a hidden cancer. This procedure is recommended by my doctors. We will see if I gain some relief. I'm torn though between this or a hysterectomy.

    • @Webbgurl2000
      @Webbgurl2000 8 років тому +2

      no. I eventually got the hysterectomy because the healing took months, and the fibroids shrunk minimally. I looked pregnant still and couldn't do anything...and to top it off..some more had joined them. The largest ones were basically untouched. sometimes, it is what it is.

    • @Webbgurl2000
      @Webbgurl2000 8 років тому +2

      I had the hysterectomy September 2015, and my stomach is finally flat looking again. Make sure you wear the spanx type garments as often as you can tolerate if you get the hysterectomy. rest, take your pain killers, and subscribe to the hystersisters website or check them out on FaceBook. If you have to do it, pray and go for it. I don't feel any less feminine. Remember your recover at your rate. don't rush it. God Bless whatever way he leads you. oh, and my love life is just fine. Each woman of course is different, but if you love yourself and think healthy you will be fine.
