*Staunton after that game* ‘Damn I can’t believe I messed up that easy win, on the bright side at least it won’t be critically analysed and I can move on from it..’ 163 years later on twitch:
It's a chicken bawking but I get this complaint quite often on UA-cam. Thankfully I remembered to turned the volume way down when the lecture actually began. Thanks for watching!
I watched your video yesterday and I have just beaten a 2200 (I’m 1800) in this exact line after my opponent played d3. Thanks Jonathan! (and Mr Rosen)
That chicken laugh fills me with overwhelming rage. I don't understand how it manages to be as annoying as it is. It's actually sort of amazing. I don't think im gonna make it more than like 2 or 3 minutes in, so I hope that's where the good stuff is!
Thanks so much for the video on Stafford history. Whenever I’m the black pieces that’s my opening on e4 players, and the history makes me want to play it even more. I’m only 1100 right now but I believe the stafford could get me to 1800 in no time
Agadmator has some series on players, you probably have seen them but if you haven't, he's making on on Paul Morphy now and has made one for other players in the past, pretty sure Mikhail Tal has one too
At 5:11 after hxg3, black is up an exchange with no center and no development except an overextended queen, white has no development but their queenside is still very safe and they have a much better center. I don't think this position is 'resignable' at all at a low or intermediate level.
Surely you should play on as White, especially in blitz, but "the center" for an exchange is almost certainly losing. Also, I think the Black queen on h1 is a strength for Black and not "overextended." It is difficult for White to harass her, and the pin of the Bf1 is annoying. White would love to play Nc3, Qe2/d2, and O-O-O to untangle quickly and try to drum up complications with their strong center, but after something like 11. Nc3 h5 12. Qe2/d2 Bg5, White can't castle out of this mess (Be2 is still not possible). Without castling queenside, White have to play some other king move(s) to develop the king bishop, which sounds very slow. Meanwhile, Black has no trouble completing development, the g3-pawn is weak, and if it falls, Black will have two connected passed pawns on the kingside. Again, I think you're right not to resign with White to give your opponent a chance to go wrong, but the position looks totally winning for Black to me.
It's just a little gambit. I'm sorry mate but all this attention chess is getting isn't from top players it's from beginners like me. If you enjoy the content boom then you're gonna have to put up with it
you are 95% an amazing guy, but your constant scratching & touching yourself it's not only unprofessional but intolerable. please, better yourself, good luck
Thanks, I was always curious of the history behind this opening. I only know it from Eric Rosen

@@JonathanSchrantz Please change it, I used to watch your videos while going to sleep, but I just can't handle that chicken anymore!

Congrats!
Played a Stafford in bullet, won in like 10 moves, and my opponent immediately knew I watched Eric Rosen's videos.
2:01 for a moment I thought Fabi played the Stafford against Magnus lmao.
Fabiano likes playing the Petrov
5:50 it was the often overlooked chess prodigy, Mr. Gambit
The Nc6 pawn sac (stafford) was also shown by Em. Lasker in his 1895 series of lectures
Great analysis. More historical chess content please! 🙏
Eric Rosen magically appeared like a genie!!!!
Are we gonna see a history on nakhmanson?
At this point I believe Schrantz is mr Nakhmanson himself
Stafford must have been so surprised that they named that Gambit after him before he was even born
Awesome videos man keep it up!!
This is going to blow up big time, with 4k views within a day
Nice, always wondered

No it can't, at 1500 people know the stafford and refute it or don't even go in the line, not to mention all the players playing d4
Well, you have games where you play as White too
Stafford-Rosen gambit
Thanks for this
It took so long for someone to answer Mr Gambit
Low-key interested in chess history rn.
Thank you lololol

Why Stafford gambit not Staunton Gamit?

ah, our favourite gambit
When he suggested rook to d2 can't white play queen takes pawn with check.
Does not really stop blacks mate. The king just moves and the queen is even more out of action
@@stvia but then white plays queen to g4 to defend the pawn

I don't know why these titles WIN IN 6 MOVES are so promoted on UA-cam... Real chess is not about winning in 6 moves

Why people in Russia call Stafford gambit as Russian gambit?
God that follower sound is so annoying
