Exactly there is not much information available on the internet on sustainibility jobs and its so confusing to research on it all alone.Thank you so much🥺🥺
As someone who is trying to make his way into the sustainability field I am so grateful to have come across your channel. Such a great platform for those not knowing where to start, so thank you and all the work that you do!!
Thank you so much for your videos. I look up to you so much and you are actually one of the few people who helped me concretize my goals in the field of Sustainability. Thank you, Tyanna :3
Hey Tyanna.. I have a question. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Interaction Design and am planning to minor in Economics. I came across these ESG/sustainability jobs and I really feel like I wanna work in these jobs in the future! However my degree isn't a direct path into this field :( Do you think the minor can help my chances of getting a job in sustainability straight out of school? Or what else can I do to increase my chances?
There is not so much information on the internet and the little I found were so confusing. I am just starting out, and I have started applying for jobs. I am so happy to prepare with some of the quality information I found on your channel. Thank you!
I love all your content, Tyanna, as it is industry-specific and detailed. I am a Master's student pursuing Global Sustainability Engineering in the UK and will graduate soon. Please share your advice on preparing to secure a role as a Sustainability Consultant. I will be fresher in the industry as my previous experience was as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Oil & Gas Industry in Saudi Arabia.
Thank you so much for the content! I've really been struggling trying to decide whether to change my career path and how to do so, which has caused a lot of stress and anxiety, but your videos and the steps you mentioned really made my view clearer, and your advice is super helpful both mentally and physically!! Thank you so much🥰🥰🥰
Your video mentioned reaching out to people in search for advice so i would like to ask you to help me a bit if that's fine. Im a high school student residing in India right now and im currently trying to figure out what exactly i want to do in the future. Last summer i had participated in this competition for which i made a detailed project report on how to turn my school into a green school. I think that really made me realise i would love to go into the field of environment sustainability. What i loved about my presentation was that i surprisingly really liked figuring out ways to make my school sustainable then later on explaining my vision to eager eyes. Ive been researching on this field and i think environment consulting is a great job prospect for me. However, since ive just started looking into this i would like to keep my options open. Unfortunately my school wouldnt be helpful in this since we don't even have a career team. I would be delighted if you had any advice to give!
Hiya! Im not sure if there’s much advice I can give here. It seems that you’re still figuring things out and would recommend for you to keep exploring your options while in college or take up internships that interest you to see if you like it or not. You have a lot of time to decide where you want to go! Good luck
Thank you for this detail analysis very much, I still figure out what I want to do in the future! It’s so confusing that there’s lots of different sustainable company and position lol
@@TyannaBui also would love to connect through LinkedIn, your are inspirational and I want to be you in the future. I was looking at studying at UCSB or Columbia university for sustainability management or environmental science and management for my masters. I’m currently studying social entrepreneurship and have one more year until I graduate with my bachelors.
I want to become a sustainability director at hotels or retreat centers. Im trying to figure out if pursuing a BA Sustainability studies with a minor in Biz Admin would open up the most doors for that position.. or... a BS in Hospitality Hotel Management with a minor in Sustainability. A career advisor @ my university was not helpful. & ofc I understand having work experience is key! Would greatly appreciate your input on this! Awesome video. Sending waves of thanks.
Good question! This is just my 2 cents but would recommend to prioritize your skills in whichever field you want to do then supplement with sustainability.
I'm also trying to figure out what I want to do in my sustainability career too, and yeah, I agree, it's never easy! These are great steps though, and you summarized them perfectly. Great job as usual, Tyanna, keep at it! :D
Speaking from experience, you can’t put in that message without a LinkedIn premium account or without connecting with the person. lol. First thing we need to learn is to be succinct. 😁 But agree with all those steps though. Great work
Thanks for bringing this up. I believe you can add a personalized note when requesting to connect with someone on LinkedIn within a certain number of characters
I am from a different field and want to switch to a career in environment and sustainability. How do I navigate? Mere certification isn't helping me get a job and in most cases the remuneration is lower than my current role. What do I do?
When switching industries you're most likely going to start at a lower tier than where you were prior but that doesn't mean you can't move up the ladder quickly. I'd recommend reaching out to folks on LinkedIn to connect and build your network to see if there are any other opportunities during your conversations.
Thank you so much for your video it really helps me alot to finding out so many questions i have in my mind regarding sustainability as a career as in my country Pakistan, i couldn't find any person from the relevant field. But if you mention some of the sustainability programs or certificates, so we can search for it and finding what exactly we have to study and will i be able to understand them, having environmental sciences bachelors degree, so that would be more helpful. Hope you understand my question.
Hi Ahmer, thanks for leaving the comment. Its hard to pin point which certifications are right for you mainly because they’re focused on different topics. Here’s a blog post from Greenbiz that might be helpful for ya: www.greenbiz.com/article/33-sustainability-certifications-you-need-know
