It's obvious that Zootopia exists in an alternate timeline where the simian genome doesn't exist and all other animals evolved without human interference.
Oh, that actually makes a lot of sense. Apes evolved into humans, but since apes didn't exist, there are no humans, and the animals evolved themselves similarly.
I was thinking this too and wondering if it was some fever dream or like... from the movie Sing instead. I think it definitely leads credence to Fishtopia at least. Most aquatic creatures live there while land society tries to accommodate what they can.
I am totally in the camp of "not every Male and female duo need to date" but in this case, I actually really dig the chemistry and tension between Judy and Nick. Why do people care so much if they end up in a relationship or not? If they get together, great! If they stay best friends, great! It's 100% okay if you ship it! But if they don't end up in a relationship please just accept it.
the reason that many ship them is that their relationship works no matter their gender. they are emotionally attracted to each other and it shows as they both care more about what each other thinks than their own family(at least in judy's case). that said i wouldnt mind them being best friends in the end but for the love of god if they end up a couple, dont go yelling they are just pandering to the audience people!
I have been working on a Zootopia fan theory bordering on fan fiction for about..... 2 years now. Zootopia is one of my favorite movies and Nick Wilde is probably my favorite fictional character of all time. when I looked into the early development stages of this film, I had no idea how large of a universe I would find. Originally Zootopia was called: Savage Seas and was a James Bond-style spy thriller featuring a male rabbit named Jack Savage. the movie had two acts: one in a city ruled by civilized mammals, the second where Jack Savage pursued the evil Dr. Meow to his island compound. the executives liked the unique concept of a civilized city of mammals, so the second act was cut. the film was renamed to savage city, and the plot revolved around "Tame Collars". the predator species of Zootopia were forced to wear shock collars, which activated if their heartrate was raised suddenly by anger, or by joy. Nicholas Wilde got a medical license and a warehouse to build an illegal amusement park for predators where they could remove their collars and experience joy on the rides. Disney essentially made 3 movies when they made Zootopia. but not completely: by filling in gaps of screen time and plot holes, I found that this movie connects to much, much more... /////////////////////////////////////////////////////// In the TV series "Zoo" a mysterious infection I'm calling the simian flu: infects and changes all mammal species to have equal intelligence levels to humans. the mammal's wage war on humanity who they view as oppressors and destroyers of their natural environment. They slowly become more anthropomorphized through the 20-year war and begin using utilizing human weapons. the humans were defeated, any small population of people left was forced to live on islands or detainment camps. at the end of the war; it was supposed to be a time of unity, where animals could prove themselves to be more responsible caretakers of the earth than humans. by settling their differences and coming together to make the world a better place. things didn't go to plan... after the war, the animals who did most of the fighting decided that they should rule. this happened for 2 reasons: 1 not all humans were exterminated (as they were supposed to be) so the responsibility of watching over these prisoners fell to the fighters and to the civilians for providing taxes to fund and maintain these prisons. 2 the mentality of the animal warriors was, “I defeated the enemy, I conquered these lands, I should rule this land!” Henceforth a bunch of warlords, dictators, and tyrants took to power. And here starts the Robin Hood film. King John was likely the third generation to gain the throne (as he has not the slightest knowledge of fighting). He inherited a tyrannical kingdom without realizing how hard it was to form. The character Robin Hood sparks a revolution, and eventually, the king is defeated. The city of Zootopia was supposed to be founded when the last human died, it would be a place of unity and progress. Instead, it was founded when King John was executed. The filmmakers of Zootopia say, “the city was founded at a water hole, where animals would come and stop hunting each other” I think that this is somewhat true; the animals did not stop hunting each other here, they stopped fighting each other here. The fight against the tyranny of king john was a long and bloody civil war. By the end, everyone wanted to stop fighting and unite. The city of Zootopia was founded on ideals to end fighting between animals. Once a more democratic government could take place: technological progress flourished. During the robin hood films; they had medieval aged technology. That's because the animals had just ended a war, the rebuilding process would take decades. The animals only had access to whatever primitive tools they could build themselves or any technology they had stolen from the humans. But there was so little of the human tech left that it became priceless and fell into the hands of the ruling class. so to sum that up: 2018: Simian flu gives animals human intelligence and anthropomorphized characteristics mammal kind declares war on humanity 2038: mammals win > human survivors are forced into 12 reserve lands animals society falls into the feudal ages 2101: Robin Hood sparks a democratic revolution continent-scale democratic governments form, all seven ruled by the capital Zootopia > control over all 11 human reserves is reestablished 2158: Zootopia movie takes place This is what I believe could be the origin of everything we see in Zootopia, animals overthrowing humans, a society raised in bloodshed trying to hide their past. funny how they are not so different than us.
i think for a sequel it would be cool if Judy found out somewhere in the movie Nick has a crush on her and understood why he did everything that he did for her. But she see's him as a friend, nothing more so there's something in the film surrounding that awkwardness.
I'm sure in a deleted scene where Judy gets into an ice cream shop, there was a brown horse close to her waiting in a line :P It sounds kinda non sense that horses can't exist on Zootopia, since in reality, horses aren't supposed to be attached to humans xD
I’ve seen in some comics Judy’s worried about what her child would look like and act like and I just keep saying “Don’t worry the fandom would never do that”
Tafferine exactly, the fandom is literally forcing together. Plus realistically these two would create a abnormal child and it will die quickly due to complications with its birth
Venomøus Kittěr I mean yea people can and will ship it- it just bothers me when in any fandom, people can never just be friends but have to date..... I mean have fun shipping it ig
My thoughts on Nick Wilde x Judy Hopps (Wildehopps): Personal, I would love Wildehopps to be made canon, or at least further hinted at, in a possible sequel. But ultimately, as much as I want it, I think it’s the Directors’ decision to make. If they want to make the ship canon, great! No complaints from me! But if they feel they work better as friends, then by all means, that’s okay. Romantic or not, Nick and Judy play off each other great. (Even if a small part of me would be a disappointed if they were simply friends. Oh well, fan fiction exist for a reason, right?)
I love and ship Judy and Nick so much, you don’t understand, they’re so cute together and I hope they make evident their love for each other but still I hope it stays platonic.
@@nellacoetzee582 You're also forgetting that gay couples cant have biochildren as well, it doesnt mean they dont love each other. why is this any different.
This is the only time I have ever actually agreed that if these two got together it would be believable. They didn't have the love at first glance bs like all the other movies. They're actually fleshed out characters and their personalities compliment each other. As for people saying "they should just stay friends" they could, but as a guy who has had multiple female friends over the years, if they are single and they find you attractive and love being around you than feelings are almost always bound to develop. Been in that situation far too many times.
@@TheJoeWhoSoldTheWorld but I'm saying that when Nick told Judy that she knows she loves him and she said yes it's beCause there talking about friendship love not being in love
I get part of the point of Nick and Judy's bond was to have this sort of Romeo-&-Juliet-esk relationship with the whole predator and prey deal, Judy's parents, etc... But, some people need to chill out with "crafting unseen scenes." Nick and Judy work well together, that's part of the movie's theme of unity--but I've seen so many darn things of people turning the relationship into a sexually-driven one and someone under UA-cam's kid restrictions can watch it by accident. "Inter Schminter," "I Wish"--the list goes on. They look good together, and I don't care which route Disney takes because I'm going to enjoy it either way, I really enjoyed this movie--but can we please leave it at that and chill out...?
Gabriel French I agree with you. I'd love to see the movie tackle a interspecies concept but If they don't end up together in a sequel, I'd rather see no romance than them 2 finding other love interests.
@@vaelerys5379 I didn't think the concept was wrong, and their relationship is a whole symbolic element of the movie on "Opposites can get along" (I mean, obviously, they wouldn't have been able to solve the case without their combine talents). The part I was getting at was people making things online that UA-cam does not restrict that have sexual interactions between Nick and Judy. That needs to stop--at least to where a kid might accidentally stumble upon it and watch it. I wouldn't mind them finding other love interests. Now, do I think they will...? No. Listen to their final exchange at the end of the movie before they catch Flash speeding and you'll know why. Judy: "You know you love me." Nick: "Do I...? Yes. Yes I do."
@@gabrielfrench8382 Yes, what I meant was that if they don't end up together as a couple (which would really disappoint me) I'd rather not see any romance in a possible sequel than Judy finding someone else or the other way around. I also doubt it will happen, but you never know. I don't know if I explained myself but I love the chemistry between them and I'd love seeing them becoming something more. They passed through a similar situation when they were kids and I wonder if Judy ever told Nick about her bully. They started as enemies, and ended up as being pretty much soulmates, Judy brought light to his life. And yeah, I've seen plenty of those comics and I agree some people can cross the line sometimes... It doesn't really bother me but I hate people humanizing them. The characters are perfect the way they were originally made. Well there is one thing that really bothers me. I hate the idea of them having kids, just no. In a sequel I'd like to see more of Nick's backstory and how he managed to pass through the Training Academy.
@@vaelerys5379 Thank you for sharing the same dislike of the concept of them having kids... Judy and Nick aren't the 'perfect' couple, some of the relationship just seems rushed or spontaneous, but they have a good chemistry. I am very interested to see how a potential relationship would have worked out between them in the original movie concept ("Savage"), since Nick was actually supposed to be the soft-hearted and kind protagonist with Judy being the more stern character. Hope they don't abandon all of the "Savage" concept for Zootopia 2.
@@gabrielfrench8382 The Wild Times concept also scrapped completely, damn.. It's sad to see all those scenes cut. The fact that Rich Moore left Disney is really sad, but I remember watching an interview in which Byron Howard said they loved this idea of Wild Times and they'll try make it reapper. I've been having this idea of recreating the "Wild Times" scrapped plot and turning it into a comic since I know how to draw. This idea has already been made before but it's not really based on the original, it appears to be set in the 80's. You can go check it out, it's called "Zistopia", like I said before, it has some similarities to the original discarded script but it's an non-canon alternate universe. I'd love to make one but based on the real original scrapped plot, I just don't have the complete story (?) Well, it's all about research and I don't have time but I hope I can somehow make it happen. Sorry for the bible.
I swear there are white horses walking past just as Judy walks out of the train station too. Maybe I'm wrong and they are different animals. But they look very horse like. :)
I for one think Judy and Nick make a wonderful couple and would personally enjoy a sequel that put some focus on their relationship. The backlash from family, the struggles of public opinion, the rules of fraternization. There could be a whole movie about how they fight through the hardships together.
Ya there's Horses, in a Deleted scene From the Ice cream place Judy says to the mammal behind her "I'm so hungry I could eat a Horse" Then the Mammal Becomes Offended because its a horse
To be perfectly honest, as cute as it would be, a fox-rabbit hybrid is most likely impossible. This is because of chromosome count and genetics. The offspring would either not carry to term, die soon or instantly after birth, or be infertile. Guess we just have to ignore the science 😂
I just finished watching zootopia and in one scene nick said to Judy “you know you love me” and Judy said “do I? Yes yes I do.” So half of furries are happy and the others are sad
I have been shipping them for a since the movie came out. I absolutely adore the thought of them having a family together, whether it's having a child of their own or adopting, I actually don't care which route it goes.

(Except for the millions of pets that don't realize that they're not small humans, and the half dozen AI's that no one can really tell are real or not, but who's counting those?)

the reason that many ship them is that their relationship works no matter their gender. they are emotionally attracted to each other and it shows as they both care more about what each other thinks than their own family(at least in judy's case).
that said i wouldnt mind them being best friends in the end but for the love of god if they end up a couple, dont go yelling they are just pandering to the audience people!
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////
In the TV series "Zoo" a mysterious infection I'm calling the simian flu: infects and changes all mammal species to have equal intelligence levels to humans. the mammal's wage war on humanity who they view as oppressors and destroyers of their natural environment. They slowly become more anthropomorphized through the 20-year war and begin using utilizing human weapons.
the humans were defeated, any small population of people left was forced to live on islands or detainment camps.
at the end of the war; it was supposed to be a time of unity, where animals could prove themselves to be more responsible caretakers of the earth than humans. by settling their differences and coming together to make the world a better place.
things didn't go to plan... after the war, the animals who did most of the fighting decided that they should rule.
this happened for 2 reasons:
1 not all humans were exterminated (as they were supposed to be) so the responsibility of watching over these prisoners fell to the fighters and to the civilians for providing taxes to fund and maintain these prisons.
2 the mentality of the animal warriors was, “I defeated the enemy, I conquered these lands, I should rule this land!”
Henceforth a bunch of warlords, dictators, and tyrants took to power.
The filmmakers of Zootopia say, “the city was founded at a water hole, where animals would come and stop hunting each other”
I think that this is somewhat true; the animals did not stop hunting each other here, they stopped fighting each other here.
But there was so little of the human tech left that it became priceless and fell into the hands of the ruling class.
so to sum that up:
2018: Simian flu gives animals human intelligence and anthropomorphized characteristics
mammal kind declares war on humanity
2038: mammals win > human survivors are forced into 12 reserve lands
animals society falls into the feudal ages
2101: Robin Hood sparks a democratic revolution
continent-scale democratic governments form, all seven ruled by the capital Zootopia > control over all 11 human reserves is reestablished
2158: Zootopia movie takes place
This is what I believe could be the origin of everything we see in Zootopia, animals overthrowing humans, a society raised in bloodshed trying to hide their past. funny how they are not so different than us.
i think for a sequel it would be cool if Judy found out somewhere in the movie Nick has a crush on her and understood why he did everything that he did for her. But she see's him as a friend, nothing more so there's something in the film surrounding that awkwardness.

Judy: "You know you love me."
Nick: "Do I...? Yes.

-That's for the gay couple-
Josie Freehan how do you put a line the words
SAME
Same
“If you look at rabbits in the wild, they are rodents”
Me, a person who has a rabbit and an intense bunny passion; UhM eXcUsE mE?!?!?? ThEy aRen’T roDeNtS!! THeY aRE lAgOmOrpHA!!!!
I wonder how someone could get that wrong...
My reaction too...
I ship those two so much Nick x Judy❤️❤️
Yes. Dogs and wolves can breed, so can dingos, kyotees. But that is because they share the same animal class, just not species. the only thing fox's and bunnies share is probably the fact that they're mammals. It is nowhere near possible as you said.
Adoption is a thing y'know.
I think Judy and Nick should be together in a relationship
Grae Jordan that is your opinion and I will respect it. Thank you for telling me your opinion
I don't agree
But it opinion
I came to this video to see a plethera of tumblr people shipping animals that are both fictional and a different species, Odd....
So do I,though then again, let's hope the sequel doesn't ruin it!
Some people be like:
There are no cats and dogs in ZOOtopia, because it’s based on zoo animals
Manchas: am I a joke to you?
Is it just me that doesn’t think about this stuff, I just watch the movie and like it or not...like I never go this deep into a movie 😂😂
same lol tbh I think it's a bit ridiculous but people are bored nowdays so they come up with this kind of stuff
@@katenka_ana3997 but it's part of the fun
Lmao especially because it’s a kid’s movie about anthropomorphic animals. Like bro.
I totally ship them 💖 but I don't wanna them to get married OR have kids 😅
Minea Filen Same here, well I don't really mind if they stay as close friends but I'd be totally happy if they do end up together. I've always hated the idea of them having kids. Please no.
It’s weird, I somehow ship them in a hardcore way but I just don’t like the idea of them getting married or being a couple... I just like when they are friends who happen to be very flirty
@@kj2532 yeh
They cant make kids either way cuz they are different species.I just learnt biology 👌
@@MaddynotMadeline BIO STUDENTS in de HOUSE😎👌👌
I think part of the *coupling up* fan favorites is, in part, to keep them together. That is. Even most bet friend have to go their own separate ways at some time in their lives. Even family will move away and lose touch. When they are married, people like to think they worked though all the rough patches and stay together for their rest of their lives.
Plot Twist...
*Nick and Judy are furries*
Ya don't say?
this entire movie is actually a furry cosplay convention
Muhammad Aidan no u
Childhood ruined.
Oh. my. god.
5:50 there are no horses in the movie ? whats about 5:28 i can see a zebra and a horse on the left side :D
I wanna see them come out with the alternate version of this. The idea where nick was the main character and the collars sound more interesting to me then what we got.
Да, но этот вариант Зверополиса более понятен для детей
I will honest cry if Nick and Judy doesn't have a romantic relationship
mE
Nope I wouldn’t I’d be so happy
Decaying Memories well I’m expressing my OPINION. Just cuz one person sees it doesn’t mean I don’t have the right to express it anywhere else...and I’m not saying you absolutely can’t ship it just cuz I don’t it just doesn’t make since that every male and female (that are real good friends) have to become a couple
Wildehopps Forever. They're the most adorable couple that Disney ever made. Have you seen "Return to Zootopia" fan film?
Master Schroder exactly that’s a FAN ducking movie. Not canon...why can’t they be the cutest friends?
