Obama may have acted more professional & presented himself better than our current president, but his tenure was filled w/ scandal (that msm almost never reports on that’s why he’s viewed as a God). The Dems have lost touch w/ working class America, that started under Obama & it’s why Trump won in 2016 & will probably win again in 2020.
iAbuse Artemis ... if you have an issue w/ 22 million filling for unemployment that’s more of a state issue. Trump can’t tell states when to lockdown to stop the spread. In fact there’s several states that haven’t. If your states hit harder than most than you probably waited to long to lockdown (& you pry have many high population areas), but that’s on your governor, not Trump. So unless you expected Trump to do something like, back on Feb 1st, completely lockdown ALL our borders & not allow anyone into our country, American or otherwise w/out a quarantine period & a passed covid test afterwards. Than I don’t see how unemployment is trumps fault. This disease was going to get here. That scenario i played out would have slowed it, but probably still not stopped it from getting here & likely spreading everyone. Plus Trump would’ve been blasted for making such a move. So, once the virus did arrive, it was then up to each state to make a responsible decision of when to lockdown their state too slow the spread. Again that’s a decision for your Governor. Constitution clearly lays out states rights in these ways. Trump couldn’t lockdown states economies & order shelter at home then, just like he can’t forcibly start the economy up now & break shelter in place in all states. Plus many of these people who are on unemployment have their jobs back when the economy opens back up. I’d be more worried about Pelosi making bad sentiment on the Dem’s candidate by continuing to block the ppp expansion for small business owners to pay their employees. A lot of those employees are low income workers.
I grew up in a conservative family (nothing inherently wrong with that) and always viewed Obama through the lens of my family’s beliefs, even if deep down I didn’t fully agree with them. I can tell you about President Obama through the lens of a liberal that I was even then. He was/is an intellectual, yet down-to-earth man, devoted to the office of presidency and devoted to his family, who faced vitriolic hate & racism throughout his presidency from a section of American population but STILL remained classy and tried his best to be the president of all Americans, even the ones who disagreed with him or even hated him. This made me cry. As a 25 going on 26 year old I remember how historical this was for everyone including 12 year old me. My school with predominantly white teachers were SO proud of this moment and the opportunity to tell kids you can literally be whatever you wanna be no matter who you are or what you look like or where you came from. They cancelled the first half of our school day to sit us in front of TV’s to watch the inauguration with tears in their eyes. This just reminds me even tho our country is going through hard times we can and shall persevere. We can do it, we’ve done it before and we can do it again. It just gives me chills. One of the best moments and memories of my childhood and I’m so happy I got to live to see it and hope one day we can continue to see more great examples of diversity with the men and hopefully women who are the face of white house/Country.
It's sad that young people will never know how this felt. He was hopeful, his opponent respectful. Donald Trump thinks respect, empathy, and honesty are meaningless. What a sad reflection of America that a convicted felon, rapist, and election denier can be seen as more of a leader than a joyful, optimistic, and qualified woman. How can we expect decency from our children, if our leader has none?
Trust me their were racist who didn’t like obama becoming president and hate crime went up once again just like with trump, racists will always be racist regardless who wins
I presume you didn't live here under His Eminence, Barry. You read what his fawning press told you. Take it from millions of us. He was a rotten President.
I was about 11 when he was elected and I was watching the results roll in live on TV. I remember running to the living room to tell my dad "OBAMA WON!" and I was so excited
Even my Republican parents couldn’t help but cry when Obama won. There was no understating the historical significance of that moment. He wasn’t their candidate of choice, but they knew with that moment meant, and they were happy for him. That’s what it means to be an American.
I helped elect the first black president of the United States ♥️💙 I will always be proud of that! I miss the former first family so much! They are Beautiful, eloquent and well spoken! I miss the good old days. Our country is breaking right now:(
Ugh I remember my school did a mock voting poll for us because we weren’t able to vote we only in kids. Obama votes won for the school and we were so excited! Only to find out he won the following day!! This made me so emotional as I grew up with him as my president! Came back here to remind me of amazing times during the craziness of this 2024 election.
I come back every so often looking at these videos remembering what it felt like having President and First Lady Michelle Obama in the White House. The joy and peace their presence brought. It was a very sad day when their term ended, and they had to leave, opening the door for Putin wannabe, Demented Donald Trump, to turn the White House into a swamp and a haven for dictators.
I remember that night so well. I was driving home in my beat up car. I was pulling up to my house and I got a text from my girlfriend. *Obama won!!!!!* I was so happy. I got inside and she was watching CNN. That night I will remember forever.
I still remember watching this as a kid in my living room surrounded by my family. It was a truly unforgettable moment in my life... this still brings tears to my eyes....
I have saved this video, and for some reason I keep coming back to it, feel some kind of inspiration, good vibes, hope when I watch it!! Speaks a lot of the raw power of the phenomenon that Obamas brought!
When I was three years old my parents took me to that inauguration. I don’t remember much from when I was 3 but I will never forget that day. That was frikin magical
I miss you😭😭😭😭 At 10 years old when he was elected I wanted to serve my people and 11 yrs on I finish college and am on my way to serve in the civil service
I'm not American but it really looks like he encouraged people to be united and the people were kind and respectful to each other. Different with Trump and Biden.
Watching this in May 2020, my 💔 is breaking in two, and I weep for the state of our country, our country’s relationship with the world, our Presidency, and for my fellow Americans; some of which don’t realize how we are now balancing precariously on the point of a needle, overlooking a precipice to the doom of all humanity...
I say this as a conservative Republican...I cried tears of joy when Obama got elected. My Scandanavian grandparents regularly attended Civil Rights marches. Obama was the best president we've EVER had. I love that man so much. And I wish Michelle would run.
We need this feeling again! I remember living in LA at the time being on Sunset and Vine when they announced he won on the monitor. We cheered and cried. We danced and chanted Yes We Can. That was the year I turned 18 and was able to vote. I will never regret voting for Mr. Obama. The friendship him and Biden have should be an example of how our presidencies should be!
That's the type of flag-waving patriotism I like to see from my fellow Americans. Not inserting flag emojis after endorsing a racist criminal, but waving large flags after electing an honorable, decent man to office. It is rather exciting to see Biden ascending to office to restore American decency once and for all
I feel it’s safe to say we were all watching that night . Getting anxious about the votes . I remember being 8 years old and watching this happening on the tv with my family and when he won it was such a crazy feeling . A lot of people were celebrating that day and I know being young I didn’t understand politics or why we needed a president but seeing everyone’s reactions around me let me know that this was very historic moment that will definitely go down in history .
1:05 How pathetic He just admitted he tells kids they cant do something because of their skin color. Is he totally oblivious to the fact that HE is holding them back by telling them that?
I remember this moment! I was six years old, And I was SOO happy! It wasn’t about Republicans or Democrats, for me...it was that he was, or is! The first black man to be president! He was president for most of my childhood! I won’t forget you.💙

Back when politics wasn't so hateful and divisive, and when the president encouraged unity. 😢

Yes definitely. Make politics boring again.

I was about 11 when he was elected and I was watching the results roll in live on TV. I remember running to the living room to tell my dad "OBAMA WON!" and I was so excited
He did not shed a single tear. Bring him back America. Save the nation.
Even my Republican parents couldn’t help but cry when Obama won. There was no understating the historical significance of that moment. He wasn’t their candidate of choice, but they knew with that moment meant, and they were happy for him. That’s what it means to be an American.

This still gives me goose bumps. I watch this everytime I can to be reminded, we can conquer anything. Love you forever Barak Obamo.
I am watching this on 4 Nov 2024. Praying that America can achieve this again with Kamala Harris.
I miss this…. Life was good
I remember watching this live, I was only 8 years old but I’m so grateful I got to grow up seeing the first black president
I remember that night so well. I was driving home in my beat up car. I was pulling up to my house and I got a text from my girlfriend.
*Obama won!!!!!*
I was so happy. I got inside and she was watching CNN. That night I will remember forever.
Oh to have a moment like this again! To not have to worry for days to go to bed and sleep.
America has fallen so far
Joe Biden is the absolute nadir of American history. The damage he has done the last four years is incalculable.
As an Englishman, i would, in my opinion, say Barack Obama was the best president you ever had.
Nope, Lincoln or Washington
Not best but one of the best...
Washington had slaves, I don't think that makes him an ideal president
I still remember watching this as a kid in my living room surrounded by my family. It was a truly unforgettable moment in my life... this still brings tears to my eyes....
Thank you, Obama. For making us, immigrants, feel at home. And for making the immigration process easier than before.
And deporting 3 million immigrants
That was a beautiful day for the United States of America.
I have saved this video, and for some reason I keep coming back to it, feel some kind of inspiration, good vibes, hope when I watch it!!
Speaks a lot of the raw power of the phenomenon that Obamas brought!
"I will listen to you, especially when we disagree" That says it all ❤

This kind of ENORMOUS JOY and jubilation never happens when Republicans win elections
One of the happiest days of my life. So exciting.
It really was. I wish I could relive it.
I cried in joy in 08 and in 2016 I cried in misery
I'm not American but it really looks like he encouraged people to be united and the people were kind and respectful to each other. Different with Trump and Biden.
And now american has first orange president 🍊
Sadly......😩

This was such a happy time for Americans. We had the good will of so many
Watching this in May 2020, my 💔 is breaking in two, and I weep for the state of our country, our country’s relationship with the world, our Presidency, and for my fellow Americans; some of which don’t realize how we are now balancing precariously on the point of a needle, overlooking a precipice to the doom of all humanity...
Barack Obama- A New Hope
Donald Trump- The Empire Strikes Back
Joe Biden- Return of the Jedi
Josh Shapiro- The Force Awakens

Probably the most famous, iconic and greatest president there’s ever been.
Memories😭😭
That was a proud moment for the United States 🇺🇸
Yes it was.
That's the type of flag-waving patriotism I like to see from my fellow Americans. Not inserting flag emojis after endorsing a racist criminal, but waving large flags after electing an honorable, decent man to office. It is rather exciting to see Biden ascending to office to restore American decency once and for all
Great decent president. And amazing wife. Good choice VP biden.
Jesus.......I get goosebumps just looking at the happy crowd.
