On Jan. 20, 2009, 1.8 million people descended on Washington D.C.’s National Mall to see the 44th president being sworn in for his first term. In freezing temperatures, Inside Edition spoke with many ticketed visitors who said they had difficulties getting into the event as thousands sought to witness history. #InsideEdition

I was 17 and a senior in high school when Obama was inaugurated. I was in English class and our teacher was interrupted by another teacher saying the inauguration was happening. She took us to the teacher's lounge and we watched alongside other classes in the room as Obama was inaugurated. I still have the newspaper from that day.

I will NEVER forget this day. And I will never forget forcing my dad to get up and vote for him. He was exhausted from working a 12 hour shift but I begged him to vote. I said, “Daddy, please vote, if you don’t want to vote for yourself, please vote for me because I can’t vote yet.” He kissed my forehead and went to vote🥰. I love my dad. At school, they pulled us all out and we sat in rooms with TVs to watch him be sworn in. I remember feeling so motivated and we were cheering.

Even with the pandemic mishandling, families spearated at the border etc. Obama started the proxy war against Syria, allowed Clinton to start the war against Libya (catastrophic !), the regime change in Honduras, ... allowed the Saudis to start the terrible war in Yemen (because "they were already upset about the Iran deal or they might turn their back on the U.S." ).
The Iran deal was one of the few good things Obama had accomplished.

@@flavinmkabicyp The problem is that Obama wasnt necessarily perfect especially to people with more republican and conservative leaning values. Politics is politics. You can replace old policies with new ones and thats pretty much what happens. If you want to change anything its pretty difficult if there have been multiple presidents before you unless you remove some old things and replace them.
This was truly special moment in history, especially having gone through the disaster of 4 years of a trump presidency. Night Vs day, the atmosphere was better and crowd was way larger in comparison.
