Interesting design but, 1800nm range for an explorer seems a bit small. I'd like to see it able to cross the Atlantic or do Vancouver to Hawaii non stop. I feel a 3500nm+ range is far more suitable for an explorer vessel. I do like the placement of the Master and VIP Stateroom a midships, it's the smoothest part of the vessel when under way or at anchor, and the forward pilot house is fantastic, offering terrific visibility from it's elevated position.
Lynx yachts would be in my top three choices. I love the look of their hulls and the quasi form-follows-function industrial nature of their designs. The fit and finish are top drawer.
Nice boat. However, I don't understand how something labelled a "true explorer" yacht can be limited to a range of 1800 nm. You can explore nearby places I guess or far away places with a lot of fuel stations on route.
@@jaquigreenlees the only problem with doubling that range is where do you put that much fuel? That pushes the size of the vessel to over 80 feet from what I’ve seen. Thanks for the video. Nice boat but as so many have already mentioned, the Baring 77 or even the 72 are in a league far far above this vessel. The Baring 77 is 10 feet shorter yet 50 tons of strength n smoothness more as well as being owner compliant! When the money comes it’s the baring 77 for me 🙂🙂
It looks nice, but in just about every metric short of hauling "stuff" on the deck, the Bering 77 has it beat every day of the week and twice on the weekend, and doesn't cross over in to the "extra regulations" territory that the Bering 77 keeps you out of. I'm sure it's a sturdy and explorer yacht, but really...a max range of less than 2k nautical miles? And being 27 meters it has a decided lack of internal spaces...to me, this really gives me the impression of the boat equivalent of a tricked out 4x4 truck that never sees a road that isn't paved. It might be fine for poking around in the Med, but for any long duration cruising, I would have to be cooped up with everyone in a common space smaller than my living room if the weather is bad.
One wouldn't go out in this if the wind was above a 3 to 4, I don't think it will get an ocean classification without a massive rework,. While the Bering is turnkey ready to go any where.

If you want to take larger toys with you sure but I’d rather have more living space vs take a ski boat along. It’s going to be hard to beat a Bering 77 for my dream explorer yacht. If you are going to have a crew and not owner operate I’d say a CdM flexplorer 135. You can take the toys with you and have plenty of living space.
This is 2024, 10 knots is like watching paint dry. Get the economical cruising speed up to 12 knots, with the ability to go 5,500nm and you have the beginnings of a explorer yacht.
this is a hell of a beautiful super yacht, love the design. It fit my purpose to explore the ocean for a couple days or a week and get back to the land and make more money. so, 1800nm is more than enough. And beside, im not crazy enough to have an Atlantic crossing.... But if i have to, ill take the plane on a 1st class... btw, how do expect to pay the bills if you plan to live on a ship that cost around USD $5 million ? And i think most of people that can afford this kinda super yacht dont have the time to do atlantic crossing.... even Jeff Bezos.... LOL

Be honest, it’s little more than a coastal cruiser dressed up to look tough and rugged. With a range of only 1800 NM cruising a hull speed this vessel won’t be crossing any oceans, not without refueling.
@@SB-66 Agreed, but this boat is clearly aimed at those wanting to explore their own continent rather than travel to other continents. What people here fail to understand is that's a huge market segment, probably 10x the size of the internationalist cruisers.
So what are they using about 3 mm thick steel cause now I figured out it's not GRP it is steel but to weigh that little and to be that length they're using very thin steel 11 to 13 mm is what I'm looking for
The bow looks like it’s not cutting through the water but instead creating unnecessary drag. I haven’t seen other trawler style displacement hulls do that. Perhaps I’m missing something.
Nice looking boat, but that small range is not good for an 'explorer' yacht. I noticed that it didn't have a bulbous bow either. Does it have a Seakeeper or some other type of stabilizer?
Gyros are needed on polystyrene yachts because they bob on top of the water. Heavy metal yachts do not get pushed around by the light currents, and the sorts of elements that rock a _ship_ won't be deterred by a gyro.

I must say that for a 27 meter vessel it doesn't even remotely compare to even a Bering 75 let alone a Bering 77. It is very light and small in volume for a vessel of this size. The naval architects need to revisit this design in my honest opinion. How can you call a vessel an Explorer when it doesn't even have the ability to travel across the Atlantic let alone the Pacific. I hope that the design team and builder read this and use my constructive criticism to help them understand what customers expectations are in an Explorer Vessel in this day and age.
