Just gave my great nephew a mighty Tonka truck for his 3rd birthday today. Every little boy should have at least one Tonka truck in his life.
My great grandfather gave me a four-piece Tonka set back in 1968. I wish I still had them. This would be an inspiration to restore them.
My brother and I lost three of our Tonkas. Mom & dad just sold them off when we grew up. Over the years I have painstakingly searched for them at antique stores and online shops. Managed to find two!! I am not sure I will get the third one, but I don't mind getting a different one as long as they are the exact same product made in the same year.
@@farouqomaro598 best luck with that. I’ve never tried to trace mine.
Great restoration! I personally liked it old, beat up, and well used, pretty much what a real construction truck looks like. But, the restoration process is so satisfying to watch!
It's nice to see a restoration that isn't covered in fake green oxidation and rust. Killer job!
Awesome 👍 from India 🇮🇳
I remember that awesome truck. 🥰
Yeat would be proud 🥲

These guys ARE totally handy!
I had that Tonka brand new when I was young. The dump was so strong it hurt when I accidently hit my face while operating the control. It was one of my favorite toys. Is it possible to use 3d printing to recreate some plastic parts on plastic that is to brittle to restore.
You no doubt had the hydraulic dump one
Well done. 😊

You put the stacks on backwards there not supposed to point to the cab but grate restoration job
What are you using to clean and restore the plastic?
Tonka dumb truck here in the Philippines is much expensive, it costs 5000 pesos equal to 100 dollar, I wish I could have that one for my grandsons birthday.
how did you get the red caps off the wheels?
I have quite a few of my old Tonka trucks if you are interested in purchasing for yourself. Let me know if we could make a deal...
Why did you shave off the “axle” ends when the other side has removable caps that pop off?
