100 கிலோமீட்டர் வேகத்தில் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கும் போது, அதே வேகத்தில் விபத்தை சந்தித்தால் எந்த வாகனத்தில் சென்றாலும் சேதம் அதிகமாக தான் இருக்கும்.
இந்தியன் கிராஷ் டெஸ்ட் ரேட்டிங் விதிப்படி 56 km/h வேகத்தில் வாகனம் விபத்திற்கு உள்ளாகும் போது என்ன சேதம் ஏற்படும் என்பதை கணக்கிட்டு ரேட்டிங் கொடுக்கிறார்கள், சாதாரணமாக 100 கிலோ மீட்டர் வேகத்தில் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கும் போது விபத்து ஏற்பட போகிறது என்பது தெரியாமலேயே அல்லது யூகிக்காமலேயே அல்லது விபத்திலிருந்து தன்னை காப்பாற்றிக் கொள்வதற்கு எந்த முயற்சியும் மேற்கொள்ள தெரியாத ஒரு ஓட்டுநர் தான், சென்று கொண்டு இருக்கின்ற வேகத்திலேயே (100 km/h) விபத்தை சந்திப்பார்.
பொதுவாக விபத்து ஏற்படுவதற்கு, ஒரு வினாடிக்கு முன்பு ஓட்டுனருக்கு விபத்தை சந்திக்க போகிறோம் என்பது தெரிந்துவிடும். அந்த வினாடியில் தான் சென்று கொண்டிருக்கின்ற வேகத்தை குறைப்பதற்கு எல்லா ஓட்டுணர்களும் பிரேக்கில் கால் வைப்பது வழக்கம். அப்படி பிரேக்கில் கால் வைத்தாலே பாதி வேகம் குறைந்துவிடும். இது கூட தெரியாத ஓட்டுநர்கள் வாகனம் ஓட்டாமல் இருப்பது நல்லது. இந்த அடிப்படையில்தான் இந்தியன் கிராஷ் டெஸ்ட் ரேட்டிங் அமைந்துள்ளது. அதற்காகத்தான் மணிக்கு 56 கிலோ மீட்டர், வேகம் நிர்ணயிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. நீங்கள் சொல்வது போல் 56 கிமீ அல்லது அதற்கு குறைவான வேகத்தில் மட்டுமே செல்ல வேண்டும் என்ற அடிப்படையில் அல்ல... மாற்றுக் கருத்துக்கள் யாருக்கு இருந்தாலும் தெரிவிக்கவும் ! மாற்றுக் கருத்துக்கள், மற்றும் எதிர் கருத்துக்கள், வரவேற்கப்படுகிறது !

Happily a Tata Tiago customer for 5 years and 40k+ Kms, Tiago is a safest car. Ride quality is better. (Try opening bonnet, Observe the weight) . Mileage in highway is more 20- 22 kmpl in highway. A good small hatch back in the market. Service needs more improvement from Tata. I hope Tata hears this.

Few years back, my friend was driving his Hyundai Verna & after taking lunch at Ananthapur, had a self accident near Rapthadu. On the 4 lane highway, at a turning he last control & the car captzized. He was killed on the spot. I went to Ananthapur to clear formalities. The car was removed & kept in the Rapthadu police station. It was shocking. The roof entirely collapsed inward. The SHO showed me other cars, since frequent accidents happen in the particular spot. About 5 Maruthi & Hundai cars were in the same condition, all fatal. Just a day prior a Ford Ecosport too met with the same fate, but the car was intact and no fatal injuries. The SHO adviced me to dispose of the Santro which I was owning that time. As soon as I retured, disposed the Santro & purchased an Ecosport. For the past 6 years no problem. I frequently drive in National Highways for hundreds of kilometres at a stretch.
We missed the presence of Ford in Especially the Fiesta and Eco Sport.

No one is safe if u drive the car at more than 80km. Bcoz cross test done in 64km. So 4 or 5 star can be manageable at certain speed. But speed decides the death
i owned 2 cars so far in india ford and maruthi. i drove jetta and gol in abroad. i dont think maruthi can cheat millions of customer. its all about tax its very high in india , for ex 10lakh car, government getting almost 5 lakh as tax and another one lalkh as onetime roadtax in RTO only remaning 4 lakhs would go to manufacturer , manufacturer has to pay dealers,.employees and vendors. maruthi is a benchmark for all other car makers till today in india. do u think maruthi can make very strong build with 2 lakh rs?, do u thnk its possible. if maruth makes strong build for 20 lakhs ,do u think our customers are affordable?

Practicality for City Usage, Serviceability, High Milage , Low maintenance cost, Affordable pricing, Engine Tunning are the reason why their sales is high. I know the internet is going Gaga about safety and build now a days but that is not going to bring Maruti sales down. Also watch what happened to Mahindra XUV with superior build and safety features like ADAS in event of accident, even Audi for that matter. It also depends on how responsibly you drive to keep you safe as safety is a shared reasonability. Bashing Maruti on build alone is not fair though I admit they should improve there.

What about lakhs and lakhs of Indians driving bikes? Safe driving is an attitude, should be taught from childhood. Just having a highest Ncap cars alone won't guarantee our safety. Responsible driving will. Even BMW and Benz cars had fatal accidents in India. Manufacturers and government also should rethink about their strategy though. Affordability is the major factor in our country.

Secondly who is that global rating. Majority of census are wrong favouring some brand or other. Even its a 5 star rating car drove by bad or irrespomsibly driver. Even with all safeties we see how some cars burn in middle of road and parking slots. Our roads were designed for 80kmph. Most will laugh to it. With cruise control. We see drivers turning the automatic function and keeping their legs on steering to show their heroism. So if driver is responsible about his safety and those on streets. Even a zero star rating car can be drove without a scratch.
We met some guys in highways driving for thrill above 150 in their big cars.. Cornered us small car owners and warned us to drive like them in highways. We seen them struck with three other cars all jammed together. While we travelled past them safely..

Ofcourse build quality is low in some manufscturers. If you knew they got worst build. Then u must drive at proper speed even some force us to race them.. Car is but extension of ourself.. They choose us for the nature we share. We dont choose them... So rating isnt needed for me... Just to tc of my baby... And she will tc of me... Simple...
