@Bobb Grimley thank you for your grammatical 'correction'. but it can be used as a synonym for 'astonishing', which is how i was using it. are you just an old fart?
I blame the way of living these days. People move alot so they don't want heavy furniture anymore, plus spare time is scarce so furniture needs to be easy to clean ( square). It depresses me when I see perfectly intact tables or chairs being thrown away, all the craftmanship unapreciated!
They describe Newton as going on to "great academic distinction", which seems somewhat of an understatement. Einstein rating Newton as having the biggest impact on science (and sci method) is an impressive endorsement. Rather pleasing to have a piece about Grantham that does not mention the IronLady.
The golfing machine is something Bertie Wooster would have purchased for his flat and Jeeves would have gathered all the china bits.
Where's presenters Pam Rhodes, Diane Louise Jordan, Steve Chalk Deborah McAndrew ect?
Audubon and others used Taxidermy in their artist research alo.
along. Appraiser fluttery as he was, I believe misunderstood the premise to value the silk stockings.
Very sought after, much too low an estimate of value. Each pair is a work of art, embellished and black.
✔️
amazing to think how much the values have gone down since this was filmed!
Except that letter from Tolkien, that would be worth x10 more
~~ a sad sign of the times ..... amazing / appalling , both words fit.
I disagree. CS Lewis and Tolkien's materials have increased in price and also depends on the forward viewer

I love the car good show
The man with the miniature car said the word 'yes' 13 times.
@Tim McGee. Oh ya?
These Brits are just so wonderful to watch and see their reactions as are the appraisers and their explanations.
Nice to see the old home town again. Remember watching this episode on the day it aired.
2000 looks to be so long ago?

Poor visual quality and even adjusting speed on settings didn’t help the dodgy audio.
Thank you for the upload. It was terrific.
