- It's a tough choice if you have to make it, Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 versus McLaren 570S. I join BOTB at Rockingham to put the two supercars head-to-head.
Naturally Aspirated V10 versus Twin Turbocharged V8. All-wheel-drive versus Rear-wheel-drive. Italian vs British! But what happens when you take them for a drag race? With the Lambo and Mac up against each other down the start straight at Rockingham Motor Circuit after having warmed both up with some thoughts about what's to come. The race was even closer than we ever expected...!

Great vid, but I wish the sound levels between talk and music were a little more balanced. I find myself lowering the volume as soon as the music starts. Many sites do this. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just a matter of preference. Thanks for all the hard work.

Obvious result after knowing that 570s revved less and had more torgue. Max power (hp) matters for max speed - Torgue matters for getting to speed if it only can be delivered to the ground. Power cannot be measured straight from the car, it´s always calculated with a formula from the measured torgue (Nm) and the revolutions/min the tourgue was produced.

Turbos + Torque Advantage + Lighter Weight + Better tyres did it. But, even with the same tyres, the McLaren would have won anyway. Is really time for Lamborghini to decide what to do next between super-charging and turbos. It will be hard for them to keep selling slower cars.

Torque is king in draft races. Outright power isn't the be all and end all.
Let Peter(from vehicle virgins) be the driver of huracan then see which car wins , he is the only person I have seen driving the huracan to its real limits on drag race
The 570S is a demon in a straight line, faster than its bigger brothers (650S and 675LT)
Shmee: just got an idea for you. You should create an app or at least a way to have regular sounds and sayings from your videos be phone ringer/notification sounds.

I dont like when cars come stock with forced induction.
Id prefer a car that has a NA HP, and be able to add boost and make more power. When its stock with FI, kinda takes away room to add power.
I thought I liked the styling of the 570S, but honestly, it looks like a Scion's older brother next to the Huracan.
The turbos mean the McLaren will just have more torque more of the time - big, always on torque wins races. The Lambo is a dinosaur.

Nice Vid Tim. So the McLaren is 20% cheaper than the Lambo with quicker acceleration, a higher top speed and better handling. Not difficult to see why McLaren is such a force in supercars these days. The Lambo is there if you want something that looks amazing and sounds amazing and don't care so much about about performance stats or driving feel. I have to say that Lamborghini seems to be falling behind other supercar manufacturers at the moment. Lamborghini used to be about amazing looks and sound and ultimate bonkers performance, but it no longer has good enough performance to back up the looks and sound... never driven any of these cars though, so this is just based on what I've seen and read.
Strange in other tests Lambo wins... same cars.

The mclaren may have won but it does have twin turbos in it while the Huracan is NA, plus it's sounds way better

If you above 15 stone and not just fat you will find this cockpit tiny, you can see how close Tim is the wheel, this is very cramped. I cannot imagine having to drive this for a long and having that feeling of wanting to stretch my legs! 570S on the other hand could live with that, once you get used to climbing down into it lol.
Man schmee is so lucky to have Mclaren in youngerly age.. otherwise people has to earn half of life and then they get their dream machine.. i dunno about mine.. i am 25 but dunno when i will get mine. 😔

Flashing displays is due to the refresh rate of the screen or light source (same happens with LED brake lights) and the frame rate of the camera. Although you see it on video as a flickering display, your eyes will not see it like that.

Revving cold cars since 2010
I haven't seen any cold cars revving in this video...
7:20 - Oil temp 48c,and almost rev it to limiter. I presume running temps of this car is somewhere between 90-100 celcius oil temp, so I would consider that quite cold
Just was driven whole morning and filed up as well, no idea why the oil temp was so low

oil temp is in the right temp at around 95C and water temp around 90...so yeah car was cold...and the bars indicating the temp turn green when the engine is warm enough and they are blue as long as the car is considered cold...so...

princeofppersia yeah. most people even if they bought a mclaren would never take it past 110 mph. people aren't really using the power and technology of any of these cars when they buy it. buying a rolls royce would be more practical except you'd need to find two empty parking spaces together in a longitudinal fashion to park it at walmart

i've got the 610-4 and the sound is worth every cent. Definitely fast, not the "fastest" on the street but being the top 1% is fine for me. Huracan presence and sound are unparalleled! Maclaren is clearly unbelievable but aesthetically its fairly toyish looking.
mclarens are simply awesome cars inside and out.. stunning design
HOW?!?!?? The Mclaren has 3.8 twin-turbo V8 producing ~560hp and its RWD while the Huracan has 5.2 V10 producing ~600 and it is AWD. Wow, good job Mclaren!

They said that the 570 had Pirelli Corsas which are race tires, while the Huracan was on standard P zeros. Now if someone tries to make a point that tires are not important, remember that tires are thing which makes contact between the car and the road
jojjoalex and the 570 got more torque, ones the turbos kicks in they made the difference. Plus the tyres advantage that someome mencioned there you have the final result.
I think that the most apropriate Lambo you guys should have put against the 570S, is the RWD 580 PS model. Yeah it would have lost anyway but at least the specs in both car, would be a bit more equal. But actually, this video proves us that torque is as/more important than power.

I find this strange, because doesn't the LP610-4 compete with the 650S, and the LP580-2 with the 570S? Either way interesting result. I think I underestimated the speed of the 570S.

LP610-4 and LP580-2 are essentially the same speed. They made the AWD version faster to compete with the weight difference of the RWD. Aventador would be 650S competitor

@@anthonyzanghi9976 just bought my 650S and raced an Aventador SV and it wasn’t even close. The 650S killed the SV multiple times with no launch control needed and SV using all the different drive modes. I was surprised at just how fast the 650S is!
