Skye, if you want to use the ghost floodgates like that, and not worry about them getting built, you can just click pause on the phantom ones, then the beavers will ignore them no matter how close they are to your paths.
Dear Skye ... you can't fool me. Your clever editing did not prevent me from noticing that you had forgotten to mark that one oak near the farmhouse for cutting. I think I recall a drinking game from the past where players takes a drink every time you forget to mark an area for cutting ... but if I played it, I might not survive. LOL Seriously though, I'm super excited to see everything you have planned for us in this series! Keep up the wood work!
Love how you’re building these elaborate building complexes for the Folktails, with decorations and amenities, and then you leave the Ironteeth sleeping on the ground 😂
Folktails need housing in order to breed, though, I believe, so it has to be dealt with in the early game? Whereas for the Ironteeth, it doesn't matter, so the focus doesn't need to be made here yet. No doubt there will be towering housing for these beavers soon enough!
Yeah this is also a sort of population control, as having the shelter will keep them alive longer. This keeps a rotation coming in and instead of approximately 8/pod he'd have more/pod. It's also a form of pathing control, as they don't have to go back to the shelter each night; they can just drop where they are whenever. Wherever. We're meant to beave together. Isle be there and you'll build tiers, and that's the deal my dears. ... Sorry, got carried away.
@@WrongWindows Interestingly enough the base barracks and the first rowhouse (1x2, 3 tall) are most shelter per wood. The large ones are actually less efficient for materials, if that's something that's useful to you. You can calculate it yourself if you don't believe me (and I really think the bigger ones _should_ have been more efficient)
@WrongWindows I used to do the same but now I'm just using the first house with a roof top terrace up top and fire place near by. Then I just copy n paste as needed. I'm hoping to change that now tho
>Uses ghost floodgate to link upper ones >Doesn't use the same trick with paused building site on lower ones Ah, yeah, that's Skye, our favorite lemon xD
A suggestion for eventually within your Atlantis: Carve trenches for power lines and water that you platform/overhang over for the paths. That way all your power is hidden and anywhere the beavers walk is greened up. You will be able to easily connect any power sources/users up to the power network and the city will be lush. Additional suggestion: because everywhere will be connected by paths over water, you can create little ponds/lakes. For instance, you can put housing around one of these ponds, a staircase into the water with a path going around the outside with stairs going into the various barracks. And then you can put some well being or aesthetic items above the pond. Basically a beaver bridge to enter their homes so they get some wet fur bonuses just for leaving and returning home. Obviously these are more mid to late gave projects to really start, but it is a good idea to start planning for them now.
Glad you finally spotted that lazy lumberjack… but there are also three water pumpers doing nothing at the end of the episode. Also, mangroves in canals.
I found your channel through RCE, and I gotta say while his content is entertaining, it’s refreshing to see a Timberborn creator play intelligently (but not perfectly, tg) and also goof around a bit.
ngl i would definitely buy a t-shirt with "More wood, All good" slapped all over it! Skye i've been a fan for a while now, looking forward to more quotes and episodes from you ;)
I love the idea of not building floodgates. Now tell me where is my Skye and what have you done with him. If you wanna see that you have to come back for the next one 😂
7:45 if you're going to use that exploit, you might as well cheese it all the way and link both sets of gates together with ghost gates. Hell, you could link all of them on the map by putting them in and pausing the construction.
Hi Skye, tomorrow is a major festival for Indian's its Dussehra so happy Dussehra to you and picture may God bring you prosperity and wealth and happiness. and keep spreading it with all through this amazing videos
Dear Skye, I'm loving the new series already! Even if it is with the inferior beavers...(Stupid breeding pods!) This is my favourite map too! And as a person who consumes a lot of Timberborn content its amazing to see so many different creators approach the same maps in a different way, it showcases the replay-ability of this game so much. No chastising today and I've redownloaded youtube to watch the series.
Ah, you're doing the same thing I attempted. I will say, it looks like the water runs out of steam quickly, but when you channel it, it's a bit of trial and error to get the channels and reservoirs right. Which might be fun to see in an R&D episode tbh, but I'm speaking selfishly here as I really struggled with flooding on this map even with reservoirs that were 6 tiles deep.
Now that you have things kind of stabilised, one move you could make would be to pause everything besides food and water, and put every spare beaver in a science hut. Then, when you have enough science points to get things like sluice gates and dynamite, cut back on the science and go back to work.
Colony is looking good... despite the beavers all having to sleep on the ground still. I'm sure that'll be addressed soon-ish, this is Skye after all. As to the slacker meant to do science towards the end there... where was he? Taking in the view from the mountaintop and getting inspired for new scientific advancements for the betterment of Beaverkind. After all, sometimes a grand view of the surrounding nature is all it takes to spark the mind into action.
the best thing about this update is sluices, because allows for an automatic non-powered control for bad tides. and yes 3d water allows to seal all bad water sources and the good water sources in case of a badtide.
Get dynamite soon? Create channels for the water to make everything green in ur walls and in wet keep it dry part from the channels. This can also keep the islands green
Excited for this play through, as I just played it recently. I used the area to the south after removing the blockages as a mangrove farm. Had to levy between the oak islands you harvested last episode
Skye; buddy, pall... if you want us to make witty comments you have to give us something to work with. This episode demonstrated rational planning and wise execution - no mistakes, glitches or near extinction events. Come on, we need SOMETHING to find fault with!
Dear Skye, everything seems to be going a little to well! It's either a complete coincidence or one might think you're doing this deliberately because of the sponsorship! Either way it's still a joy to watch and see the build slightly take some shape.
You forgot to do ghost floodgates on the exit of your reservoir. You could of done them on inside and beavers would not build them. Also, does it work with paused construction?
33:30 im currently doing the 50*50 map waiting on resources to complete the wonder, im at 1487 gears, 1699 treated planks 1700 metal blocks, watching you playing Atlantis instead, in my game i have 6 breeding pods, the over all well being is 36 and that produces a total of 100 beavers (roughly 16 beavers pr. pod), which is far more then the 8-9 pr. pod you have.
