1997 SsangYong Musso GX220 Review

Ginny Buckley and Mike Rutherford are in Lancashire as they take a look at a 4x4 vehicle from the South Korean motor company SsangYong - the Musso GX220. With a 3.2L Mercedes engine, this mighty off-roader achieves a very respectable 0-60 time in 8.2 seconds.

I purchased a 10 year old Musso in 2008 - it still looked like new and was the best car I'd ever owned to that point. So good that in 2011, I traded it in for another brand new Ssangyong.
I guess that answers the question about longevity then :)

My dad owned a 2000 Musso diesel and it was a very beautiful and comfortable car. Unfortunately, the country we live in, there was a lot of difficulty finding parts to fix the car so he had to get rid of it. That car always holds a special place in my heart, hope one day I get to own one

I just recently purchased the 3.2 petrol version, very impressed, it launches of the mark, I really like the handling and performance of this car, and the proportions are also great, ideal as a city runabout...very happy!

I have a 96 Musso 3.2l. Bought it dead for $500. Electronics. Mostly all sorted now. Love it.

Nice looking 4x4. For some reason, the SsangYong was never sold in North America. With its Mercedes-Benz powerplant, I would think that mechanical service would be simple.
