I just bought mine... I was truly wanting to get myself this watch, but now that I have it in my wrist... I FUCKIN' LOVE IT!!! Negative display really is a pain... Not as legible as a positive one, but hey!!! This watch rocks!!! I have no regrets buying it!!! Mine was the green one!!! Very tactical looking, but also kinda reminds me of The Hulk, thus... From this day forth, I dub thee... HULK!!!
Buy a black one unscrew the back and pop out the internals and swap it over. I just did it. Don't even need to remove the battery. No more negative display. Now I have white watch with a nice display.

I was thinking of getting this one as a travel watch, so I can compute for currencies when shopping. It seems safer than pulling out my phone, especially in the market areas. The buttons seem so small though, it feels like it would be a hassle to use when you're rushing.
Never thought of it like that..but yea it would definitely be safer in many countries in a crowded market place. The buttons are small but maybe with a little bit of practice you should be fine 😊
I prefer the DBC-32 when traveling because I can quickly switch to 24hr time with a single button press when looking at things like departure times. It can also store phone numbers in case something happens to your phone. It has a back light and the battery life is amazing.
Not even mention the watch no back light.

Back in the 90s there was only the original black colour available but it's already a cool "smart" watch of the time

It is confusing that many videos mention this watch as the databank but from the review it seems that it has no data storage.
A smartwatch, long before 'it' was exists..
Where's the DATABANK feature?
Buy a black watch with positive display. Remove 4 back screws. Get a very small flat head screwdriver. Pry out the internals by prying gently at the bottom of internals right above the seal. Pop out the positive display and swap into negative display watch. I just did it. So much better. But I have multiple black watches laying around as the bands break and it is cheaper to buy the watch instead of bands. Even if you have to spend more, these watches are cheap. It is worth it to get rid of the negative display. And you do not even need to remove the battery.
Or you could just buy a new polarizer foil and transform the negative display to positive.

Shame as casios negative display all through is unredadable...Do have the positive CA-53 n love it..What Casio thinks is beyond me...
The other con of this watch is that it has no back light. Nice little gadget for bright sunny days, but I definitely would not take this watch into a movie theater 🤔

These watches were ridiculously nerdy in the early 80's when they came out. Somehow now, nerdy is cool. I still won't be owning one. Kudos to those of you who could be seen wearing one.
