I feel like the Thumb is the most uniquely Warwick of all Warwicks. Also telling that they don't make a Rockbass version of the Thumb. Lars does such a great job showing the versatility of the instruments and makes me want to play more!

Well said. You simply can’t do a Thumb Bass on the cheap. My absolute dream bass is a NT Thumb 5 from the masterbuilders. My favorite ‘Wick that have right now is a Corvette FNA Jazzman. The two-tone one that I think might have been a guitar center exclusive, it was some sort of shop exclusive and I got an insane deal on Reverb back in the day. Under a grand and now they’re fetching over $2k. I feel blessed. My all time favorites in my collection are said Jazzman and a custom shop Fender P. Only thing I really want now is a Thumb 5. I WILL get one before I die, I will. ❤
It's the placement of the back pickup near bridge, it's very close the bridge. There is no other bass like that.
The Thumb is the Rickest Rick... I've owned one for over 15 years
I have a 1990 Thumb 5 NT that is just completely untouchable tone-wise. Nothing comes close!

I had a 1992 Thumb BO 6 string that sounded unreal, but the neck dive was just too much for me. I had originally got it as a graduation gift, and also because Jorge Casas was my instructor and mentor while I was attending university. I’ve always had a high admiration for Warwick because of him, and I hope to work hard enough to get myself one of the newer Thumb 6 strings someday!

The 4 and 5 Thumb Warwick basses are Warwick's masterpieces. They are so incredibly versatile. But what is their speciality. They will cut through any tune. In the most pleasant way possible. Combined by being the best setup instruments in the business.

They should make a 6 string neck through headless thumb bass.... would do wonders for the balance issues, and would be every bit as warwick as they are with tuners at the headstock.

I'm from Puerto Rico. And recently found a gps thumb bo 5 string in white at fanatic guitar spain.
Been 15 years since I wanted and learned that Warwick basses existed.
Now I have one. Feel so grateful about this funk machine that H.P Wilfer created.

are the over seas thumb basses same specs just not made in Germany?
Hi there! There are no over seas Warwick Thumbs being made. The Thumb only is availible in the German made ProSeries(TeamBuilt), MasterBuilt series and as Custom Shop instruments. Hope this was helpful.
