I would recommend using Marisa Nitori, her bomb is a shield that covers you from one hit, it will make it easier to practice since you will have to actually dodge instead of spamming bombs, it is great of practice and you will eventually get comfortable when dodging specially knowing that if u get hit u wont die because you have the shield, hope this helps and good luck

The spell card at 2:48 has a safe spot from the two suns if you position yourself between the centre circle and end circle. this make doging the spell card super easy as you just have to dodge the yellow balls (don't mess up the positioning tho, it can be kinda tight...)
    GOOD LUCK WITH CLEAR!

Instead of using the shields have you attempted using bombs? I havent played SA but if bombing pre-death is a thing there, learning to time bombs during that time window, whilst having the ability to give yourself room to breathe on demand should outmatch a couple of seconds of invulnerability on hit.
Also something you already know: Practice. Doesn't have to be practicing Utsuho or even SA if you want to get good at bullet hells as a whole.
    Good luck with Unyu creature

Ah touhou 11, subterranean aneurism... this game is brutal and really unforgiving. This game took me over 16 hours just to get a single 1cc win and im not the only one with that problem. 😅 the best thing I can say is watch a guide and learn to dogde or honestly skip th11 cuz bombing is not going to get you through the game. You've got to at least have 3 lives by the time you get to oku or your cooked. Not to mention rin exists and stages 4 and 5... yeah nvm just start prayin boy

Like the other guy said, you're doing too much bombing and too little dodging. Most spell cards in general are static, and their patterns can be learned. I reccomend watching megamanomega's playthroughs of touhou because he explains the patterns and how you should dodge them pretty well. It may be a little discouraging to have to watch guides, but trust me it'll help your touhou skills a lot. Touhou isn't really a game you can get better at by repeatedly throwing yourself at it. Also, if this is your first game, i recommend you switch to either touhou 10, 8 or 7 if you are really struggling with touhou 11 because they are easier and more forgiving. Aside from learning techniques such as streaming and reading ahead, the rest is practice!

You are doing too much bombing and too little dodging. While it is generally acceptabel to have some spells you just bomb through because they have hard parts doing that to every one is starving you of resources. Also because you are playing touhou 11 bombs affect your power which means that you are constantly being at 0 power which seriously hindering your damage output making it take a lot longer to deal with. So give it more time learning the patterns. Also if you want to instantly skip to spellcards instead of doing the entire stage 6 stage. There is this tool called thprac which is pretty useful for practice
