Thankyou, sir..your amazing ! Your video it's so helpful and you make this egr cooler removal easy..less stress ..god bless you for having the time to teach this mechanical lesson...I appreciate you !!
@@franciscoamayaYT we have a medium freightliner box truck that had smoke coming out of the ac vents, was not overheating or anything but hot exhaust light came off an on. We took it in to a new shop and they plugged it in and said we needed a new turbo actuator and to replace a egr cooler gasket. We picked it up and 30 miles out the smoke out of the vents started again. Any idea of what it can be?
Just take it off the intake from the turbo instead and no worries about dropping anything in there goodjob mate. Thats not a dd13. Dd13 alot more work then that
if the engine was running you didn't puddle coolant on the piston you should be all right doing a parked regen after the cooler is replaced. if you have coolant puddled on a piston you must remove the injectors and suck out any fluid on the piston. if you force the engine to spin you can bend a conn rod. law of physics (fluid does not compress). if you bend a rod and don't know for sure, well lets just say you will know in the first hour down the road when the block and oil pan open up like Bombay doors in a B52. do you know how the rebuild factory checks for bent rods. with a drill blank. these are steel rods cut to size but not made into a drill bit yet. you get the exact size drill blank and push it thru the con rod oil hole. if it drops thru good to go. if not , you have a new door stop.
a couple of obvious and not so obvious notes. first the telephone pipe (the pipe in the back that goes between the egr valve and the egr cooler) there is an arrow stamped on it for correct orientation, and two miserable tiny metal gaskets to fit in there. also there is no need to run the engine 2 hours to check for leaks. just pressurize the cooling system . you my need to perform a parked regen to burn the excess hydrocarbons out of the onebox from the old cooler leaking coolant into the air stream. and since the engine has been burning coolant the 7th injector port (in the s pipe) may need to be cleaned to get a good regen. if the port in the s pipe is plugged the fuel will dribble down the pipe and not flow into the exhaust stream to increase the heat in the substraight and incinerate the soot in the dpf. good video eh.
Agreed except that truck definitely needs to run engine to N.O.T.(which doesn't take 2 hours anyway) after pressure testing system. With expanding heated materials and coolant flow, leaks could be detected that a pressure test wouldn't reveal.
hello sir you are the man ! keep up the good work . I have this code. SA1: I Engine 2 3/3 SPN:520296 last night it caused my engine to debate 25%. Now its working fine again. do you think it could be because I need to replace the EGR cooler ? I have notice some coolant missing. Also I change the EGR actuator last month but it didn't fix it.
Francisco Amaya Thank you again for your all your hard work videos and great Lessons... I have a question about this I block the EGR Is the EGR cooler still working .... Because I see some coolant leak on the top of my DEF tank...I really don’t know why the Coolant come there on top of my DEF tank.... Any idea??? And I want to know if I have blocked the EGR Is still the EGR Cooler working?
Hi Francisco, I have 2013 cascadia and my egr cooler is different, from BEHR, Germany. It's not velded and I wander if you dealth with that kind of cooler and what to do if it's leaking? Regards and thanks
You make working on this engine easy. Thank you for showing us how to work on this engine.
Very good information, my dd15 is consuming 5 gallons a week. !!! Thanks, you made it easy for me.

Francisco, you are AWESOME, thank you for your help
This video was really helpful, thank you!
Thank you and God bless you and your family. I changed mine today in a TA parking lot.
Bro I subscribe your Chennel. You have put up with so many hours doing great job. I hope someday I can take the truck to your shop.
Keep up to great work on the videos
Gracias 🙏 por todo el conocimiento que nos brindas thanks for all this great knowledge
Can you tell me if you used grease on both sides of the black connecting pipe? Or black seals?
Freightliner told me that this is an 8 he job. And that the turbo needs removed. Is the job different on a 2018 (with old body style)
Thank you!
Muchas gracias por todo
What are some common signs of a bad egr cooler
Good description👍
my dpf was deleted.. can the egr cooler be removed like install a kit or something
Thanks, great stuff, regards.
Thank you man

Buenas Francisco. Disculpa cuanto me costaria cambiar los metales y la bomba de aceite. De un cascadia 2014
Como $2500 +/-

Would a bad EGR cooler leaking into intake cause a Nox below efficiency
How many gallons of coolant does this take?
great video
Thank You
Cuánto cuesta la parte y repararla?
Bro where is your shop at city and state.
Links for part?
thank you for your video's there are very helpful. ? how do you remove the antifreeze from combustion chambers after the EGR went bad?
EGR Cooler

Nice 😎

How much the part
Hi Francisco can I clean the egr cooler using gasoline, 2016 dd15 thanks
I am not sure. You can use air and the additive for carbon remover
Francisco Amaya thanks for the reply
Your video is very helpful. What is the part number for EGR cooler? Please help! Thanks!
you should call freightliner and give them your vin, to make sure you get the right number for your engine.

How do you know if your egr cooler is bad ?
If it is consuming coolant.
Francisco Amaya I mean how can I check ? If there is a puddle of coolant that means leak?
Yes, inside the EGR cooler is going to be coolant or if you remove the mixer pipe in the intake side it will split coolant when you start the engine
Do you know whats SPN 4357 code ?? On a 2016 freightliner cascadia .
That code refers to a faulty DEF heater line problem, specifically the line #4
This could mean that the DEF line needs to replaced.
How can i contact you for some business done on my truck and your location
Where is your shop located?
Mayani Trucking his shop is online for u to do the repair yourself bro
is it better to buy a new one or rebuilt
New is always better, but reman has the same warranty and it is cheaper.
Both are ok.
Francisco Amaya thanks man

It is possible
Francisco, I never see a video anywhere about changing out the Cascadia EGR Valve. Do they not go bad?
Yes, they do. Not that common like Cummins ISX but it happens.
Where is your shop located at you are very knowledgeable about dd15
My small shop is located in Fontana CA
Hola sera que me podria mandar su infomacion por DM donde esta localizado me interesa llevarle un camion gracias
How you know if it's egr cooler go bad?

He’s got another video where he shows how to look for coolant leaks. There he shows you how you can know if it’s the EGR cooler.

you know what this is: SPN003659 14 & SPN 003660 14
If you want information about a dd13 egr cooler this video is totally worthless.
