@allcheckout, i just got this camera and the battery died within a few days. I was under the impression that it was solar powered. Perhaps i missed something in your video, can you advise if this camera needs power wall charging or a battery? Thank you, good video btw! 😊
Thanks for the nice feedback. I think the camera is available with and without solar panel. But both versions have a large built-in battery which should or could ... last for a few months ... of course depending on the location. If you have false alerts on the cam every few minutes then the battery will drain in a few days of course. Did you get the version with the solar panel and does it get enough direct sun and does the cam show charge when the sun is shining on the solar panel?
@allcheckout thank you for your response. I recently got the one with solar panel included. It worked for 2 weeks, but it died a couple days ago. I'm concerned since Jan 31st is my last day to return or keep. When it died, it was raining, but yesterday and today have been sunny, but the camera is still dead. Should I bring it down and charge it via outlet?
Great video just received two in black .. there’s two apps to choose from iegeek app and the cloud app … can you download footage from camera to your phone or computer straight from camera or do you have to remove sd card and transfer footage ? Sorry if you covered that in you detailed video I did not catch it if so Thank you
Can't remember and NP ... and yes you can download it from the app to the phone and then share. It's just not as simple as it should be. There's a video on my channel showing that ....
If it helps, I currently have a doorbell on the cloudedge app and you can download clips from the app to the phone, I'd assume it's the same for this camera since its on the same app (reason I'm considering this camera)
Thanks for asking. Nice to see that I'm not the only one checking reviews only after ordering .. lol 🙈🙈🙈 The camera is still sitting in the exact same place after 2 years with absolutely no problems so far. One of the most reliable cameras I've ever had. Not a single reboot needed since 2 years. Checking footage every now and then it's still perfect also regarding the quality and has always enough battery power and doesn't miss anything.
@@allcheckout thanks for the reply lol yea I'm always at it but I do research it first I've set up 3 iegeek cameras now at home they are pretty good would be great to have active track on the ptz camera
99% of the solar/battey operated security cameras are not intended to record continuously - sorry. Most of them you can manual start recording, but most have a time-out after 10 min or so. The only one I know has a dedicated 'long' duration recording is the Wyze cam outdoor (amzn.to/3rjeotn) but even with a full battery it lasts only a few hours

In addition to all the merits mentioned, this cam has a huge flaw: there is no way to connect with the PC and the smartphone app is very limited and not precise in cutting and saving videos of interest. They should also make it accessible from a PC with proprietary software or with programs such as Agent dv, Ip Camera Viewer or similar. Otherwise the cam is almost unusable.

@@rodger3641 Interesting, but never heard about this camera. Seems to be a normal indoor surveillance camera which needs 24/7 USB power - right? The "ieGeek ZS-GX1S 360° PTZ Solar" is something totally different and working on solar and a battery. To record 24/7 you need constant power. The only alternate way would be a battery operated camera with built-in time-lapse function and/or permanent recording. The only cam which can do this is the WYZE cam outdoor: amzn.to/3F6hNxr, but the recording time is of course limited by the battery. If you have power outside (or where you want record) then you could buy the X-Sense S21, which I've tested just recently: ua-cam.com/video/WHh665oMdTo/v-deo.html. I have been fighting with the company for almost 2 weeks now and am ready to return it. It rarely records anything. The SD card has been formatted, camera has been reset, uninstalled and reinstalled the camera from the app. It records my wind chimes if it's windy, the odd time it records my dogs in the yard, but if I'm in the yard, or I go to my car in the driveway, it will not detect anything, even though I have humanoid detection turned on. I am not sure what I'm doing wrong. The company says there's nothing wrong but the settings are not rocket science, I have 2 other cameras that I hooked up with zero issues and they started recording right away. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but it's ready to go back.
Weird. It's not a perfect camera, but compared to others I'd say it's doing a good job - at least here, but every situation is different. Did you activate the sound alarm?
@@allcheckout I've been going back and forth with them for 2 weeks now and the camera is defective, simple as that. I have other cameras that I have had zero issues with. Once I cash in the gift cards and get my refund, I'll further edit my review to 1 star and share the bribe. I bought this for security due my personal situation and to the reviews... How many others were bribed in this way??? I will never support such shady business practices at my own personal safety.
By other cameras, I mean other brands, they're all basically the same in terms of set up and functions.
