@@henrykaspar3634Well, the performance here is played at 159 beats per minute which my metronome says is "allegro" which is normally translated as "fast" and hardly a tempo associated with the solemnity Bruckner asked for when he wrote "feierlich, nicht schnell". My metronome puts the upper limit on "moderato" as 120 bpm and I would respectfully suggest that the movement should go no faster than that.

But the tempo marking is "nicht schnell". Is this "nicht schnell"? If it is, how fast would one expect "schnell" to be?

Before Bruckner died he wrote down a list of preferred versions of his symphonies. So stop wasting time with a non-issue.
