Anyone notice how Laticia said she had three sons but then on the phone with Wilcox she only said two boys’ names? That and the fact that she was confused by Matt asking if she had to sacrifice a homeless person don’t make the pieces too hard to put together…
I noticed. Was that a reference?
A reference to how her blood sacrifice had to be one of her own kids.
It's what happened. That's why Wilcox said, “You don't give a damn about your kids.”
Its also why she said, “They are all I have left,” when she was begging. Because those are the onyl 2 kids she has left.
Duh!
I'm surprised the main character didn't put those pieces together. The whole idea of a " sacrifice" is for someone to sacrifice something precious to them. Mxrdering a random person won't cut it. The board can do that on their own, if that was the case. they need people who are desperate enough to sacrifice their loved ones.

The real villain is still the healthcare system
Well if it were another country he'd have the stroke and not be taken care of or not get the treatments he needed if he did get accepted. The problem is when Healthcare is free for everyone, the system is overtaxed and everyone ends up suffering because of it. You end up with systems such as "M.A.I.D" yo try and remove as many people instead of helping them.
The USA Healthcare is expensive...but the government is the reason for it, Remove Medicaid and other social programs that use Healthcare and those costs would lessen greatly.
IMO, insurance was the bad guy in the story...but it also can be seen as the end users neglect of what he was buying into as well.
@@Raymo2uBro, this is unequivocally false. Plenty of countries with socialized healthcare have functioning ER's that can treat stroke patients. Do you think they just let people die on the curb in the UK or Canada? Miss me with that nonsense. Insurance companies are bullshit, but blaming Medicaid for expensive costs is ridiculous. Medicaid isn't the reason pharmacy companies price gouge on life saving medicine and it's not the reason a CAT scan costs as much as a car in a hospital. The problem is unchecked greed. Insurance companies are just one part of a big messed up pile of crap. Silly arguments like this is why the US system is so screwed up. Too many people shooting themselves in the feet because they're afraid of "socialized medicine" while the rich assholes at the top are bumping the prices up all the time because there's nobody who will tell them they can't.
What do you think will happen if medicaid, Medicare, SSI, and SSDI are dismantled.

Man, insurance companies are the worst. Dealing with the one I pay HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS A WEEK to a couple of years ago for my wife's emergency surgery made me understand how desperately the US needs a massive overhaul. They charge you every cent they can, and then when you need them they do everything they can to deny every charge possible.
You should have come to the UK , we treat everyone for free.
@cerealoffender4000 one day maybe the US will figure out how to join the rest of the free world in providing healthcare for its citizens. To be fair, that can't happen until we seriously address our immigration laws and standards, but neither party ACTUALLY wants to fix either of those two things, because lonbyists pay SO MUCH MONEY to keep those issues murky.

What a double twist.
I was on his side until the girlfriend was introduced. Dump her and suddenly he'd have a few extra hundred dollars a month. It might not be as much as paying off his entire medical bill, but he wouldn't have to worry about keeping the lights on. Plus, most hospitals are happy to setup some sort of payment plan. Ask them if there is a lesser amount you could have pay most will do it.

Can anyone tell me what this story I've been thinking of but I can't remember what it was? Basically it's a single dad and his son and the son has some doll or toy and he starts getting overly attached and obsessed until the dad takes it and the same thing starts happening to him and he locks himself in his room and completely forgets about his son
Truckers, janitors, police, security guards, that's just some of the many jobs that i've come to understand that keeps society going during the night when everybody who isn't them is out like a candle.

Good story however it brought to mind some situations that we deal with here in America. Not to get too political but the leading cause of bankruptcy in America is medical bankruptcy. Support, universal healthcare, and let your representatives and or senators know. 40 to 50% of American citizens can’t handle an emergency $500 bill.

You know a story is written by a rich kid when their idea of "bad debt" is 4k I medical bills.
Try working about what, if anything, you'll get to eat. Or whether or not you'll have a place to sleep. But I guess medical bills (a bill that doesn't affect your credit, in any way) is rough also.
It was $114K not 4k, and wtf are you talking about? Medical debt can absolutely affect your credit once it goes to collections. Stop making stuff up just to hate.
