This video is 100x more helpful than the instructions the attachment comes with
Hi. Does anybody know Which speed number is stir? Mine does not say stir.
@@scamila17speed 1.
I love how detail oriented the Host is in her own instructions on how to observe the the attachments, set up the mixers and prepare the bowl before hand as well as preparing the ingredients with her fabulous idea of pre chilling the ingredients before churning them . I give 10 Stars instead of 5
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you
What speed for mixing
@@marilynhanks2206 I generally use the lowest speed unless the recipe specifies otherwise.
it's a really cool explanation, but as a pastry chef here I'd recommend you to heat up the mixture just until it boils, that causes the sugar tu crystalize in particular ways and then bring it down to about 35°f at the fridge for 8hrs before churning the icecream, it will increase it's texture and stability
Fantastic. Thank you for your detailed demo.
This was very helpful! Thanks
Mix until sugar is dissolved:
- 2.5C half and half
- 1C heavy cream
- 3/4C sugar
- 2tsp vanilla extract
Fridge to chill
Set to "Stir"
Add Mixture
Churn for 20 minutes (add any toppings 5 minutes before finish)
Thank you sooo much! You explained it so well, till the last details and super sweet! Thank you once again, because I will feel confident to use it now! Noting can go wrong! Greetings from Stuttgart Germany 🇩🇪
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this video. I couldn't FIGURE it out. 🎉
Happy to help!
I love your instructions. I just got my icecream maker. You will be in my kitchen as I do each step with play/pause. Thanks for the detailed instructions. I am making a keto ice cream. The keto ice creams at the store taste like chemicals so I am excited about this new attachment.
Where did you find a keto ice cream recipe?
I think for the keto ice cream you just replaced the sugar with your swerve or monk fruit sugar
As a total novice, this was the perfect video for me! Thank you.
What a delightful lady and have decided to purchase the ice cream attachment. Thank You
Enjoy!
A wonderful video. Very calm and straight forward. Enjoyed it.

Hi Tina. Finally able to start cooking again. Still recovering from last years broken leg after hip replacement. I'm at 70% weight bearing. Easier to stand for longer periods of time. Mine is being delivered tomorrow and I've already made room in my big freezer. I haven't had homemade ice cream since I was a kid. I'm going to make peach. I don't eat a lot of ice cream but when I do I want it to be healthy. Love your videos. I watch them all. 🤗

I have had one for years and never used it. Tomorrow I am going used it.

I wish I had your kitchen it looks very big and luxurious
I want a kitchenaid, just for this attachment. Lol
Good ice cream
Thank you 😋
Nice presentation - instructive and entertaining (not to mention mouth-watering) - one very important instruction the host did not mention was just after the beginning when she took the freezing bowl out of the freezer - she should have emphasized that the churning process should be started as soon as possible so that this freezer bowl has not begun to thaw out just sitting idle on the countertop...the bowl must be as cold as possible during the churning process.
Glad it was helpful! Yes, good point!
Hello Tina awesome video I just purchased one of those ice cream makers, I have a question do you know if they make a lid for the ice cream maker Bowl because in my freezer the only place I can put my bowl is at the bottom and there's things always falling down to the bottom Shelf and I don't want things to go in my ice cream maker Bowl it would have been nice if they made a lid. Once again thank you for your awesome videos
I agree with the other followers, you are exceptional with your information on products 👏....how can we see more of you in your videos???
Working on more videos - Michael - you can check my channel for previous videos I've posted. Take care!
You forgot my favorite--(Ben and Jerry's) Cherry Garcia! Also, I have the older model of this attachment, and I lost the instructions. I seem to remember, though, that the adapter goes on slightly differently on the two styles of mixer--I have the Classic Plus.
I have the older version of the ice cream maker that I have been using for years. Two years ago it started leaking at the manufacture seam, underneath one of the handles that go to the larger stand mixer. (Heard this was common in the older model freeze bowl). I used a commercial grade plastic glue to fix. Was wondering if you have had or know anyone that had this happen with the newer freeze bowls?
I am going to order one for my new 7 quart mixer. I just subscribed. One of my favorite ice creams we had as a child, was hand-churned raspberry macadamia nut ice cream. (we got strong arms-felt like we manually churned for hours). I'm going to have to try that and a ton of others. Where do you find good recipes for ice cream, any suggestions?
Love the video! Just got the attachment and glad I found your channel. We’ve tried a few recipes but can’t get the liquid to churn into ice cream. Im at elevation 3500 ft. Could that be the problem? If so, any ideas how to adjust my recipes? In particular the recipe you shared in this video? THANK YOU!!!
Hi Sandra - I'm not sure about altitude and ice cream - I hadn't heard of any issues with that before. You do want to make sure your ice cream bowl is completely frozen - keep in the coldest part of your freezer (I always do 24 hours.) Also make sure you ice cream mixture is super chilled in the refrigerator.
Thank you so much for this video. I was wondering about sugar-free ice cream. I am diabetic. Do you have any recipes for me on that? Thank you, you are so much fun to watch.
Hello Shelley - Yes This index above has some sugar-free options - www.epicuricloud.com/qvc-demo-recipes-sun-10-9-22-kitchenaid-new-ice-cream-bowl-attachment/ Enjoy!
Thank you for the video. I ordered mine today and will have it the 21st. My KitchenAid mixer is the 100th anniversary one so it should work with the attachment. May I ask where you purchase the tall snap container that you put your ice cream in? Could I add thawed strawberries toward the end of the mixing process to make strawberry vanilla icecream? Instead of sugar can I use a natural sweetener to make it more low carb? Thank you.
Hello! I think the containers were various Lock and Lock type containers. I haven't tried with just thawed strawberries. I have seen recipes were folks use macerated strawberries so that may work. Here a a couple low carb type recipes I have made before - you could use them as a guide? alldayidreamaboutfood.com/keto-peach-ice-cream/ swervesweet.com/recipes/strawberry-ice-cream
will this fit the KitchenAid Epicurean model?
Nice good 👍👏🇵🇰
Great video. Do you know the difference between old ice cream attachment and the new one?
Yes I do! The dasher, bowl and adaptor are all redesigned. And for me, seems to freeze up more quickly.
can you please tell me where you got the ice cram maker for your LIFT MIXER ?? and what model # is yours,,? mine is KSM5
How do u make your peanut sauce for icream?
Did you make the peanut butter sauce or did you use store bought Reeses Peanut Butter Topping? I really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
Both! I believe I used Reeses for the video - but I have made homemade too - delicious!
i just got the kitchenaid ice cream attachement from BBB for only like $59.. on sale from $100 :)
Is there an ice cream attachment for a 5 quart? Do all sizes have equivalent ice cream attachments?
Just bought my new updated ice cream maker. Is your peanut butter drizzle a ready made one or do you have a recipe?
Hi Christina - I just used the Reeses bottle of peanut butter sauce. Worked out very well!
Does this fit the biggest KitchenAids - 5KSM7580 and 5KSM7990?
Hey Tina, it might be a silly question but when you think of the principle of its working system (churning) of this ice cream attachment, is it possible to make our homemade butter-churn?
That's interesting! I generally make butter with my food processor, but it does work with a stand mixer as well. www.epicuricloud.com/recipe/make-butter-with-your-food-processor/
I can hardly wait to get my ice cream maker attachment! That will be in August, bummer. In the meantime, what is the brand of your measuring cups? I'm ready to replace my ancient Pyrex set.
In the video it is a KitchenAid set we had on QVC. I do have a variety of measuring cups too! I did recently replace some of my Pyrex where the measurements had worn off. I like to have both glass and plastic.
@@epicuricloud Thanks. I'll keep looking for plastic ones.
Can i make a double batch in the 4.5 qt bowl?
IVE TRIED TWICE WITH MY BOWL AND THE ATTACHMENT FOR THE DASHER HAS POPPED OFF TWICE FREEZING THE DASHER HOW DOES YOURS STAY ON? I HAVE THE TILT HEAD KITCHENAID.
Tina can I order a new dasher and adapter for my 5.4 KitchenAid. and where can I get it from?
Hi Barbara - I would reach out to KitchenAid Customer Care - www.kitchenaid.com/resources/contact-us.html
Does this ice cream maker fit the vintage K5SS lift stand mixer?
When in doubt, I would contact KitchenAid Customer Care. Take care!!
So recently bought a Kitchen Aid Mixer from Costco 6QT looks like the one on the right but heard attached might not fit. You have any info for me my daughter is ready to buy that attachment 😄
if it's a 6qt with a wide bowl, it should be compatible. It's my understanding that the ones that aren't compatible are older narrow bowl models. I would suggest your daughter call KitchenAid Customer care - they would be able to tell her for sure. www.kitchenaid.com/resources/contact-us.html - call the countertop appliance team
How do you make your peanut butter sauce for ice cream
I have a different brand of ice cream maker but the bowl is the same. I want to order one for my kitchenaid but how can I clean the sides a rubber or a wood scapular does not scrape well so I have a lot of waste. Can you tell me what you use? Thanks
I use a silicone type spatula. If anything is really frozen on, I just let the bowl warm up a little bit, then scrape the rest.
Do you have a recipe for almond milk ice cream?
Google it
Do you think that you could possibly churn 2 separate batches in the bowl?
Hi Cheryl - Honestly I haven't tried, but I don't think so. It does stay very cold, but I'm thinking it wouldn't be cold enough to freeze another batch.
Hola! I have a question: can I mix the ice cream twice? I made a batch and the freezer wasn’t working right so the ice cream could not get hard enough so I have the ice cream maker in the freezer again and the melted ice cream in the refrigerator. Tomorrow I’m planning on mix it again to get the right texture. Thank you. 🙏
That's a really good question - I'm not 100% sure - but if you try it please let me know - I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work??
@@epicuricloud yes 🙌 I did work. Thank you.
I had a problem with the ice cream maker as well. In deep freeze for 4 days. So disappointed. Ice cream batter was so thin.
I set it a little faster than that now. My first batch i made, i set the mixer to like 3 or 4 (mine doesn't have a "Stir" setting. It seemed to take forever to freeze, but it didn't bind up and the ice cream came out great.
My second batch, i set it slower because i'd read somewhere that it freezes quicker, and that the stir setting is the equivalent to 2 on mine. SO i set it to 2, and after about 10 minutes... it slowed down for a second, then BOOM, the dasher froze to the bowl and snapped the cheap plastic coupler.
Just now, i made a batch of coffee ice cream, used #3 setting, a little fast, but it came out perfect after like 20 minutes. Doesn't taste all that good because i just used cheapo coffee. I need to get something a little darker roast next time, for the flavor to come through.
If i had to buy this attachment again, i would not. It's only a matter of time before that cheap plastic coupler breaks again. Kitchen aid doesn't actually sell a replacement part. You have to message them and beg them to send you another. So if that part breaks and they don't send you a replacement, just throw away the whole thing, because it's useless without that part.
Did you reach out to customer care? Yes, you need to stop the churning once the mixture is thick and/or if you hear the dasher assembly click.

hi i love the floavour of your recipe, but it has an icy texture to it, do you know why that could be is it that i might of mixed it not enough with the kitchaid icecream bowl? keep up the viedos
Hi Brent - Thanks for reaching out - did you use the exact ingredients - lighter dairy can make more icy.
@@epicuricloudthanks for your response, I used full cream milk, is it possible that I didn’t mix it enough before putting it in the freezer?
3:21 can you confirm how long you refrigerate the mixture for before churning? I thought I heard in the video 30 minutes but when I open the link to the recipe it’s a six hours. Thank you.
Hi Rena - It really depends upon what mixture you're making. If it's a cooked mixture - I'd make the day before. For completely uncooked mixtures, you can just put it back in the fridge once everything is mixed up and get it fully chilled. (I didn't hear myself say 30 minutes) but you can certainly check it at 30 minutes and make sure it is chilled.
The closer to 32°F the mix is before putting it into the ice cream maker, the smaller the ice crystals that form which means smoother ice cream.
Delicious ice cream maker How much.
Pls pls i want de machine & how much & do i get it
My mixture doesn’t want to firm up in the bowl, it remains loose. I’ve tried different recipes and followed the direction for the ice cream bowl, what could be the problem? Thank you for the help. 🤓
Hi Marsha - Generally when I hear of this happening - It's the bowl not being completely frozen or the mixture not being chilled enough. I recommend freezing the bowl for 24 hours in the coldest part/setting of your freezer. And also make and chill your ice cream mixture the day before. Also make sure any sugar in the mixture is completely dissolved. Hope that helps!
@@epicuricloud thank you
My face when I see you drizzling that caramel into the obnoxiously, delicious-looking ice cream was like pure shock and awe.
Then my face when I realized that it was peanut butter something was like pure judgmental rage and disgust.
Anyway, TTYL Aunt Velvatine!
LOL! Delicious either way!
Could I put yogurt in it Or is it too thick?
If you want to add fruit, should you strain it on a paper towel or anything before you add it in?

What’s the difference between this maker and other makers of same concept? Can other recipes be followed?
Would you please due a video on how you make your Ice cream Peanut butter sauce
Hi Jennifer - I have used this recipe: www.seriouseats.com/reeses-peanut-butter-cup-sundae-recipe In a pinch I buy the Reeses brand sauce.
Just got ours but must have gotten one of the left over old design. Mixture freezes to the sides and stops the dasher from turning.
Hi Luke - hmm - trying to help troubleshoot - You want to make sure the dasher is installed and moving before you add the ingredients. You only want to stop when the ice cream has finished churning - it will generally be a thick soft serve type texture.
@@epicuricloud Yes, it was moving when I poured mixture in. I most likely need to ensure none of the mixture hits the side when pouring in but that’s easier said than done.
Can you make healthy and lactose free icecream in it?
Yes you can Hannah!
@@epicuricloud mine is on the way!!
Is there any differences between the old and the new one beside the look?
Yes, the dasher is redesigned for churning performance and I think easier to scrape clean. The adaptor is also redesigned - very easy to install. The freezing liquid is also updated - stays very cold! in my experience the ice cream seems to churn faster and results seem thicker and creamier.
@@epicuricloud thank you for the info.
Do you think to record a video about the kitchenaid food processor attachment?
because I couldn’t see it in your channel.
I’m considering to get one but I guess I’ll wait for until your video drops, you represent the kitchenaid’s attachments so good, informative and all the way through.
Though, I’ve some concerns about it because people kept saying there are so much food leftover in it. Therefore, I’m thinking whether they revamp this one in the near future. If so, I’ll wait for that.
@@Luckypanda1 I wish I had more time to shoot, edit and post videos! I do have a food processor attachment, but haven't made a video yet. Happy to answer any questions I can.
Hey I’m trying to get a recipe to use my ice cream maker can you give me an easy recipe thank you very much
Yes I can - see the link under the video - there's a whole index of recipes. Basic (Philadelphia Style/No egg) vanilla is super simple - just cream, milk, sugar and vanilla.
Can you take it out of the other one that is still working on the left
The ice cream? yes, non went to waste!!
How long does the batter keep for
You can make it several days in advance and just keep chilled in refrigerator.
When scooping the icecream from the container, don't push the scooper, pull the scooper, you will nice scoops.
What is that faucet looking thing built over your stove? Can you make butter pecan ice cream on a video?
Hi Willie - It's called a pot filler - so it's a water faucet - great for adding water to large pasta pots or anything on the stove. So you don't have to carry from the sink. Plus I like the look of it too! I have a simple butter toffee recipe, you could sub in pecans. It would be basically the same technique. It's called "butter toffee crunch" and is linked in the info. under the video.
How long can the bowl stay in freezer
If you have room - you can keep it in there all the time.
Can we make gelato too?
Yes you can make gelato!
I want this machine
Where do you get the peanutbutter sauce?
I just used the store bought Reese's brand, but you can totally make your own!
@@epicuricloudhow
How/when do we add fruit? Strawberries?
You can add your fruit (generally macerated or as a sauce) toward the very end of churning - here is my recipe for my strawberry swirl. www.epicuricloud.com/recipe/easy-strawberry-swirl-ice-cream-no-egg/
Would love to see Keto recipes
Hi Kammi - Here's an index with a wide variety of recipes! I believe there is a keto one listed. www.epicuricloud.com/qvc-demo-recipes-sun-12-4-22-kitchenaid-new-ice-cream-bowl-attachment/
As of 9-26-22 it looks like this is roughly a $9.00 recipe, for 1 1/2 Quarts. Plus hours of work. I bet it taste great though!
It does taste amazing!! - and you get to control the ingredients and have the satisfaction that you made it yourself! With pints of premium ice cream going for 5 - 8+ dollars a pint - this recipe makes about 3+ pints worth. Sure you can buy a bargain gallon of ice cream for cheap, but you're paying for a lot of sketchy ingredients, gums and air. Take care!
Oddly enough, the bowl won't fit on my Pro 6000 with the nipple facing the back. If I put it that way, the ears don't line up with the lift arms.
Also, I'd say the most difficult thing about this bowl is pouring your ice cream base in while it is running. That "gap" isn't very wide between the bowl and the mixer head.
Yes, I always dribble a little myself - but sooo delicious!
What is half and half ?
Half and Half - is sold as a Dairy item in the USA - you can make it by just combining half whole milk and half heavy cream. Hope that helps!

The ice cream attachment for Kitchenaid is the only one I will not buy. In order for it to work, you have to have room in your freezer to prep it. It's far easier to make ice cream without it. Honestly, you only need condensed milk, whipping cream and flavoring to make ice cream in 5 minutes.
To each their own - thanks for your thoughts. I have made that quick type "ice cream". It's fine, but nothing beats real churned ice cream!
So much noise! Will get me crazy.
