I like the idea of Leo being a Mulan type of character that hides the fact that she is dr Kliesen's daughter due to G-Corp. Explains why Leo is sometimes referred to as male as well and has some boyish characteristics. It makes the most logical sense to me and imo takes into account all the data without retcons or turning a blind eye to stuff like the swimsuit outfit in tag2. The story events of tag2 might not be canon, but those are still the same characters, just in what-if scenario's. At the end of the day, it's intentionally left somewhat ambiguous and open to interpretation.

Yoshimitsu is a specialist character along with lee and Steve who have loyal fan bases and with the horrible balancing in the CBT with asuka , Nina, Kazuya, law , and Xiaoyu… they might want to hold off buying the game until they see what they changed , took away, or dumbed down with the characters. Asuka and Nina died horrible deaths especially.
