5029 'Nunney Castle' - The final Torbay Express of 2014

Sunday 21st, saw the final 'Torbay Express' of the 2014 season, it was only fitting then that 5029 'Nunney Castle' should be at the helm of this last run. We first see the Castle going like the clappers along the Great Western's Bristol to Exeter line, shot from just outside of Yatton in gorgeous morning conditions. A rather uncomfortable shot though, having to perch myself on a gate and lean over the fence to my tripod, situated on the other side, hence the slightly slow pan. Next up we have a short shot of Nunney powering up Wellington Bank, on the final stretch to Whiteball Tunnel. Not my first choice of location however, but with all the spots around the car park taken, as well as a back up spot further up the field, this'll do for now. Apart from the trees it's not too bad, more of a second camera shot.
This next shot is one I've been wanting to do for a Torbay Express for a while now, Greenway Tunnel. 5029 blasts out of the tunnel in fine style, barking like a good'un on the climb up to Churston, passing the camera at around 20mph, leaving the tunnel filled with steam, which was still escaping long after she passed. Our final shot sees Nunney running up the east bound climb to Whiteball, near Pugham Farm, ending off the chase nicely.
