"But we're not in a typical wine region like France, Spain or Italy-" It's only typical because you've normalised it like that. No one in the former USSR, particularly the Baltic, Georgia or Moldova, care about those three countries when it comes to wine. But I don't mean to come off as harsh. Very lovely video, and I enjoyed every moment of it. Keep it up!
Good wine is what matches your taste. Ignore wine prices, more IS NOT better, ignore advertising, buy what you like and enjoy it. Wine elitism is right up there with whisky snobbery.
Agree. Prices are not even close to showing the quality of the wine. It is always the subjective tasting which shows what is good. For instance, you can try Barolo and it won't be pleasant for you. It doesn't mean that it is better wine or a bad one. It's just wine and that's it.
Subjective concept with someone alleging to be the best at it. Such a farcical, bougy joke. Sure buddy, as a fellow Balt I can assure you our win taste is trash.
Pot calling the kettle black. This comment reads as pretentious as you are calling this video/sommelier to be. Let people be in their professions and if you don't value this expertise, then don't watch this type of content...?
He won the best sommelier in the world competition hosted by the international sommelier association in Paris 2023 in front of 4 thousand live spectators. It's a big deal in the world of wine. One could argue what that means exactly, but he's certainly no slouch in his field and he's earned that title for the year.
@@QualeQualeson It sounds like you know a lot about sommeliers and are regularly following developments and achievements in the wine field. I'd like to ask, what is your favorite red wine?
I learned nothing, Thanks!

Never expected the best sommelier in Riga, but I had a very pleasant 7 1/2 minutes with two very nice people. Well done!

Still waiting for a masterful "tip".
No air-sucking intake on the initial sip?
