Anomaly, and STALKER by extension, is one of those experiences where terms like _immersion_ and _atmosphere_ take on a whole new meaning. Gone are the days of the player-centric shooter, nor will you be saddled with all the stress and BS of a game like Tarkov. I only ever play on Ironman for my own enjoyment unless I'm exploring mod options. So if I die, I restart and tell myself "That's life in the Zone. Just gotta make peace with it. If the men or the muties don't get you, the land itself might."
It's a truly unique experience. There will never be another game like it... until STALKER 2 drops and we realize the devs haven't just been living in their own Chernoblyat hellscape for the past few months, they've been hard at work trying to deliver us the experience they always wanted, the true STALKER experience.
I think Stalker 2 will be a completely different game
@@rinardstarykh OF course. It's going to have very few similarities with Anomaly but it _will_ capture the essence of STALKER in the same way. I don't understand the argument that Anomaly "is not a STALKER game" because just looking at it, it meets all the criteria of the original trilogy plus the ambitious original design goals of the early builds when STALKER _wasn't_ STALKER at all! So Anomaly _is_ STALKER as if it had the technology of today during development in 2004.
But STALKER 2 is going to exceed expectations. We know what the design goal is. We know what the devs want to do. They haven't exactly been closed-lipped about their project aims.
Don't expect anything better from Stalker 2 than it is now. Except for good graphics of course. Players from the CIS have lost hope for this project. Some don't even wait for the game to be released at all.
@@rinardstarykh Most of us just want the devs to get through this war safely. We don't care how long it takes to release the game. Delay it until 2033 for all we care!

Amazing, but kinda reminds me of the modding scene of many games around 2010s, where the no.1 rule was that making the world look wet makes for an impressive graphical overhaul xD
The game looks amazing without those too, this adds a realism factor to the game since vanilla doesn't have puddles

Dude how do I make the trees and grass look like in this video? This looks amazing, mine are jagged to hell even with x8 AA and High MSAA.

I still can't believe how modders just keep adding these amazing stuff to such an old engine it's really impressive. You gotta keep in mind the last stalker game came out more than a decade ago and since then ppl have been adding stuff that seemed impossible for the engine...WOWWWW
p.s: I know anomaly runs a modded Xray engine but still, modding the engine itself to add these...
devs have the source code and full devs tools. Not taking away from the amount of work needed to do this, but would not have been possible otherwise.

what shader mod did you combined with SSS ? looks amazing, Expedition ? or Enhanced Shader ? are you using Reshade as well ?
I use Expedition reshade, Enhanced Shaders and SSS.
The kind of mod you don't notice until you uninstall it.

Hi, this looks amazing, I do have a question ; do the rain puddles appear only on certain parts of the maps? As I'm in Cordon and don't see any. Is it only in Cities or something? Thanks.
Yes, certain places are set for puddles, but they are everywhere. If you don't have puddles, then they don't work properly for you.
@@rinardstarykh Ok, thanks. So Rookie village doesn't have Rain puddles, but for example in the Military Base it should appear (flat terrain) ? (asking so that I know if have it installed correctly)
Turn on rain in the debug menu and be sure to press the play button. Next, write in the console this is "ssfx_wetness_multiplier 10, 0.3, 0"

Hello, great mod! I’ve downloaded it to try it out. How did you make your footsteps make splash noises when walking over puddles? Mine currently doesn’t do that and just get a generic sound as if I was walking on dry terrain. Any help would be appreciated.

The game is not perfect. Each frame was adjusted individually, so playing with a good picture does not always work

So as we see, to make a great game it only takes time and patient. And it can be free, awesome and spectacular af.

yes, everything works. But I have to use a simple color grading from ES because the extended one conflicts with BaS.

How did you get the puddles to always appear? I wanted to modify the puddle file but still I can't get them to always appear even when it's sunny.

in sunny weather, puddles do not appear) They just didn't dry out after the rain. To make puddles appear faster and not disappear longer, write the command "ssfx_wetness_multiplier 10, 0.3, 0" in the console.

it doesn't affect performance much.
With shadows, defference between ssdo medium or high is like 10-15 fps on 1070.

@@rinardstarykh Thanks for the reply! So far I got the mod in AO2, I made a different separator for it at the bottom of the list and added all the files there and it's still not working. I'm using the Gamma mod btw.
you need to set the order of mods by priority and sink the shaders to the very bottom
it is maybe the cause because i play efp 4.0 at 25 fps less than in 3.0 even tho i played with hd models?
HD models significantly load the system
no, with hd models i play at 70 fps, what eat FPS its the screen space shaders
did you notice any frame drops or avg frame loss?
if you use SSDO, there will be a drop of 10 - 15 frames. But you can only use reflections and puddles

@@50rads it does just enable or disable specific graphic mods and make sure in game settings aren’t interfering with shders. I promise you it looks like this if not better and tweak your natural lighting basic settings too.
