Genuinely one of the greatest war films ever created. Fun fact: all the wrecks and destruction was/were real 0 cgi was used. The French National Railway company gave the movie production a branch line that they were abandoning, and outdated locomotives and rolling stock that were going to be scrapped. The real rail yard that was playing Varies yard was due for remodeling and some demolition, by blowing up the yard to simulate an Air Raid, it saved the French Railway Company a very big amount of money and labor
