- 100K A Day notices a pattern of how top track and field guys are not dating black or dark skinned women. Is this a coincidence? The black female track and field athletes seem be dating and marrying white guys alot more frequently also. Why are dark skinned athletes mostly avoiding marrying or dating other dark skinned people?

I have to say that the one American that I have most genuinely shared an admiration for dark skinned black women was a white man. When after we talked about the various complexions of West African women from various countries for a brief moment(and I was quite shocked that he knew the difference), he shared his favorite, which was also mine, describing the Senegalese complexion as "more godly", I had to smile in agreement and give him a pound. ... but deep down I was shaking my head inside, contrasting that opinion with most AA men.

I like the subject but you left out a lot of factors in you speculations. Slavery is a factor in how some men view their blackness . Culture and upbringing play a part and you have to factor that in. In America from my experience and observations light skinned people gravitate to dark skinned people for black validation. Dark skinned people have been taught their color is a problem so some are afraid to procreate with similar color to avoid any children coming out dark and having a similar outcome in life like them if they had a problem. So the answer is not so cut and dried. But good video very entertaining.
thank you. but one reason why i never mention slavery is because people alive today dont identify with slavery. If black is perceived to be less why do people come to it for validation? In fact, why do so many white women and other races of women come to black men? marry us, have our babies etc. They all want our dna. I've been studying this since I was (I'm 61, now), and the complaints that I've always heard from both sides are essentially the same (I'm not repeating them here). The thing eitside rarely recognizes us that this situation all by design and its origins lie centuries ago, in slavery. In short, our disunitdeprives us of any real power in thus society. It was planned. And we went for the okie-doke.

Could it possibly be the Black women atheletes, the 'darker' ones, don't want BM? Could it be BOTH want lighter and whiter, and not just BM? Why is it okay for White men to 'swoop down' and get the darker BW, but not okay for White women to 'swoop in and get these Black men?
When it comes to dating and marrying, its different strokes for different folks. Its your choice. No one should tell somebody else who to love and marry. Its none of their dam business.
Can I ask a genuine question & please can my dark skin sisters chime in because I have heard the argument about this for a while but this is something I just don't understand. Why do people care so much about who someone else is with? In the core of you soul does it really matter that much to you? Especially because what are the odds you dating any of these individual? I never understood why people care if a dark skin man or women dates a white or light skin man or women. I really would like to know the reason because personally, I find it quite ridiculous to hinder yourself from finding love and happiness just because a random stranger feels some type of way about the dynamics of your relationship.
It's perfectly fine to want someone who looks a certain way or has a certain skin tone because everyone has a preference but this narrative is very old and tired. If someone you like does not like you or if someone you wish to be with isn't attracted to someone who looks like you keep it pushing and put that effort into finding someone who likes what you look like. Again please help me understand why this matters to so many people. I really just want to understand the other perspective because It does not make sense to me.
It matters for 2 reasons.
1. alot of white people hate themselves for who they are inside, there mindset and most of their physical features.
2. Alot of black women hate their features above the neck only.
So black men are put in the middle to decide what we want to do.
Go read some history. Everything must be contextualized. Do you think it is fine for darkskinned women to be sidelined?

I am a black woman with brown skin and I never experienced colorism. However, I did not grow up in a black community and I am pretty with a great figure. The men who sought dates with me were predominately white men. Thus I married a white guy. However, I still consider myself a "Sister" and my husband does not negate my blackness. I do have to admit that not being involved in a black environment omitted many cultural norms that I was/am unaware of. The acrimony between black men and women is shocking and living a life free from that environment makes me appreciate my very interesting life. While too many black men are focused on colorism, normal people are building lives/homes, creating beautiful gardens, and planning their vacations for the summer and winter months. The good life cannot be understated.
