i saw this helmet the 1916 in Potsdam germany on a used stuff market callled "Flohmarkt" it had still the leather inside and was REALLY beaten up dents Holes and sutch inside. im shure it wasent a NVA Helmet

The leather webbing must have been heavy and difficult to put on.

The problems with that nice, distinctive lion plan in front of the helmet are that it gives a nice aiming point and it allows the bullet to dig in instead of glancing off from the helmet, leading to numerous dead Dutch soldiers with a nice round hole in their helmet and forehead, a phenomenon not observed by the average Dutch officer. According to family history, the first command of my paternal grandfather was to remove those damned lions when command devolved unto him.
Did the Romanian army wear the same helmet??
