      Todays criminals hide & aren't in the public eye like those in the 20's. They were funny & likable because they were in the business of providing alcohol which the public agreed with as they too didn't agree with the law.

    I remember when my family and I took the San Francisco tour and we went to Alcatraz and we got to see the prisoners how they spent their lives and when we came across Al Capone's jail, cell I was like wow

    I'm 68 I'm infatuated with this s*** since I've been a kid I did a book report on Al Capone in school and it got rejected my family's came through Ellis Island I learned everything about all this s*** and I love it

But like most businesses it's not how good you are but who you know. And that definitely was the case back in the day. And Al Capone had the contacts if he wanted to push for a music career. Its diffrent now though. As all you need is to be able to cry and have a dead nan and Reality TV does the rest.

    When Capone arrived in Atlanta, May 1932, he was diagnosed with syphilis, gonorrhea and a deviated septum from his years of cocaine addiction.
    Capone had been warned about having syphilis years earlier, when it could have been cured, but he declined treatment (some say he was afraid of needles).
    We actually know who the Polish-American sex worker was who passed on syphilis to Capone.

    My uncle took a boat tour of Biscayne bay in 1946 when he was in the navy. The boat went by Al's house and he saw him fishing in his swimming pool, wearing that striped bathrobe.

    A friend of mine works at Alcatraz, Al Capones cell is off limits, but I got to go inside his cell and have a seat on his toilet. I also went into the infirmary and into the Birdmans cell, both. off limits.

    If I remember hearing correctly, his mother and wife were devout Catholics. I believe that Capone also returned to the faith and was active in creating a chapel. I’d be curious to know if this is actually true.

    He was so darn smart, he could have been so much more,but I don’t think he would have changed.. he started the soup kitchens and many more charities… I toured Alcatraz and saw his cell, my one claim to fame! Haha. Very interesting, atmospheric feel to the whole island.
