My uncle took a boat tour of Biscayne bay in 1946 when he was in the navy. The boat went by Al's house and he saw him fishing in his swimming pool, wearing that striped bathrobe.
There still is the getaway underground outside of Onarga ,Illinois where he and others made their getaway. I don’t know what’s left of it but I know it’s still there.
He was so darn smart, he could have been so much more,but I don’t think he would have changed.. he started the soup kitchens and many more charities… I toured Alcatraz and saw his cell, my one claim to fame! Haha. Very interesting, atmospheric feel to the whole island.
