Thank you so much for your clear instructions. What a HUGE difference it made in the look of my Ikea Ritva panels on a large window. I was surprised how time consuming and fidgety the process was for 6 98" long panels. The point about it being more challenging the closer you get to the bottom was no joke! 😅 It paid off in the end however. The drapes look more expensive and bring an extra visual calm into the room. Love it!
I just spent time this morning carefully working and tying pleats into my new homemade curtain panels. Can't wait to see them when their training period is over. Thanks for your helpful video.
Thank you. Just purchased lined silk 120 inch panels and they flare out, losing all shape. Hope this works!! So i steam them as soon as they are tied? Or after they have been trained? Thank you!!
So helpful!!! Thank you! May I ask how the drapes you show in the second room are hung? Hooks? That is the EXACT styling I am trying to achieve but my draperies do not have preformed pleats only a rod pocket/tabs for rod on the back of the header.
my drapes in the second room are hung on drapery hooks in the buckram. If you have tabs you should be able to get a very similar look, but your pleats will probably be a lot fatter/bigger just because you probably have fewer tabs. Thank you so much for commenting!
thank you Natalia! the second room draperies I made from scratch. I used a medium weight linen. The reason they looks so luxurious is because I have 2 1/2 widths of fabric on each side of the window. so the fabric is very full. that makes ALL the difference.
you definitely want a quality rod for 120" wide window, or else over time the rod will absolutely start to bow. Kirsch, antiquedraperyrod.com , United Supply company. Check United first, the other two company's might only be to the trade.
I've used many different brands. All the handhelds are about the same. if your thinking of investing in a long term steamer that'll be used a ton then a jiffy is the best.
Here's an amazon link to the one I usually use... amzn.to/3XUWFF6 There is another option that's very convenient because it's multifunction and allows you to use it with hooks or even rod pocket. it's very similar to what comes on IKEA drapes. amzn.to/3NUcebz
@@MimzyandCompany your drapery videos were very helpful. I am remaking expensive custom curtains from my husband’s office to fit my house. Wish me luck!

For heavy curtains , do you have a recommendation for rod? My window with I’d 120”, they are very wide windows.

What steamer do you recommend?

What header tape do you use to hide clip n clip rings?
